10 Low-Maintenance Plants To Decorate the Home

When we need a little green for the home, maybe it’s time to add some ornamental plants that are easy to maintain!

Ornamental plants are useful for two reasons: 1) green is cool on the eyes and 2) it adds a little life to the home. It’s also a common home hack for many interior designers if they want to make the place look bigger. Some people use fake plants but of course, there are more benefits to having real ones. Here are ten plants to have at home that are also low maintenance.

1. Whalefin

Whalefin Snake Plants are a bit on the pricy side, but they are also easy to take care of indoors. They don’t do well under direct sunlight but don’t like being in the dark either, making them the perfect candidate for a window plant. They’re also the kind of plant that doesn’t need to be watered every day and just needs a spritz or two to make sure they don’t dry up.

2. Rubber Tree

Rubber Trees are a little bigger and darker in color but they’re also another plant that does well indoors. So long as there’s a bit of ventilation, the Rubber Tree can last a long time even with little water. Since they grow slow, they don’t need that much maintenance either. They thrive best with indirect sunlight and a spritz of water on the soil every other day. Although, it highly depends on how hot it gets in their spot.

5. Aloe Vera

We know how aloe vera is perfect for the skin and they’re perfect for growing indoors. Aloe Vera needs little watering, with most people killing it because they watered it too much. They’re also a cute ornamental plant because of their spiky leaves that add edges to our already cozy and soft-looking rooms.

Bonus: Aloe Vera has sap that serves as a good root hormone if you want to propagate more plants.

6. Monstera Deliciosa

This low-maintenance indoor plant has big green foliage that has filtering capabilities like the Golden Pothos. What makes it easy to maintain is that its watering schedule is only every 1 to 2 weeks. And even then, the water is not supposed to be so moist. As beautiful as this plant is though, it’s not recommended for houses that have a lot of pets. They’re toxic for fur babies!
