Nicole Borromeo to Family After Miss International Bid: “I am So Grateful For Your Love”
Nicole Borromeo, who placed 3rd runner-up in the Miss International competition in Japan last October 26, thanked her parents for being a constant guide in her journey.
It’s been more than a week since the Cebuana beauty queen placed 3rd runner-up in Miss International in Japan. On November 4, Nicole Borromeo shared her message for her family who traveled to Japan to see her in action.
In the post, she thanked her whole family for being her constant support system leading up to the competition.
“’My family, they’re here!’” I whispered to a fellow candidate with excitement as I stood on that stage, and caught a glimpse of them in the audience. It was the first time they watched my pageant together which made the experience even more special,” she wrote.
“Mom, @joanneyance, thank you for checking up on me and supporting me even when we’re apart. You’re the first to gather the family and let them know whenever I’m in town. You’ve reminded me that I have a loving home in Cebu to return to.”
She also thanked her dad and uncle for being there to cheer her on.
“Dad, @ed.borromeo, thank you for being just a phone call away, you’ve been my anchor. You never hesitated to pick me up from or take me to the airport as preparations for the pageant intensified. Our drives and dinners together have been my source of comfort.”
Messages for Giles and the rest of the family
In the same post, Nicole also thanked her boyfriend Giles Benedicto and the rest of the family for showing support in her journey in the competition.
“Lolo Bobby and Lola Janet, your love and support have been my foundation. Bringing the family to Japan to come watch me is something I will treasure for the rest of my life,” she said.
“To my entire family, I am so grateful for your love. You’ve encouraged me to seize every opportunity that comes my way. I love each one of you more than words can express.”
Nicole’s 3rd runner-up placement was the highest in the last four years since Ahtisa Manalo’s 1st runner-up placement. The last time the Philippines bagged the title was in 2016 when Kylie Verzosa won the country’s 6th Miss International title.
Nicole Borromeo recently returned to the Philippines after doing her commitments with the other runner-ups and new Miss International 2023 Andrea Rubio. She alongside the other Binibining Pilipinas queens will be present for the annual giant tree lighting at Araneta City on November 10.
