Lea Salonga To Get Madame Tussauds Wax Figure!
Lea Salonga joins Anne Curtis, beauty queens Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, and Manny Pacquiao as a wax figurine soon
Lea Salonga is getting her wax figurine at Madame Tussauds. The Miss Saigon star was announced as the latest personality to get her figurine by the Singapore branch on Wednesday, June 5.
“We are truly excited and honored to have Lea’s wax figure,” Elaine Quek, Head of Sales and Marketing at Madame Tussauds Singapore said. “Madame Tussauds has always been about showcasing remarkable talent and bringing the audience closer to them through lifelike wax figures. We know a lot of people all over the world are excited to see Lea Salonga in wax. The whole Filipino community globally is beaming with pride, that’s why we know we had to reach out to her and make it happen here.”
Madame Tussauds posted a short clip of Lea being measure for her wax figure.
“I’m super delighted to be joining Madame Tussauds with my own wax figure,” Lea said in the clip. “Are you ready?”
Latest Filipino to Join the Museum
Lea is the fifth Filipino to get a wax figure from Madame Tussauds. In 2023, the museum announced It’s Showtime host and actress Anne Curtis will have her figure at the Glam Zone of the Hong Kong branch this year.
The figures of Miss Universe titleholders Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray have been displayed in Hong Kong and Singapore. Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao’s figure is currently on display in Hong Kong. Although no specific date, Madame Tussauds teased that Lea’s wax figure may debut during the third quarter.
Lea, who recently returned to the Philippines for a singing engagement has been traveling back and forth for performances. She recently wrapped up a tour of Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends and will join the cast again in 2025.
Lea is currently preparing for a concert Stage, Screen, and Everything in Between.
