Plan Your South Halloween Weekend: Trick-or-Treat Passes, Gaming Rooms, and Family Buffets

Newport World Resorts welcomes spooky season for the whole family

The pumpkin baskets are out, the costume fittings are underway, and sweet treats are already making their way onto our kitchen tables! Halloween season is officially here, and for families based in the South (or those looking for a fun weekend staycation spot), finding events that cater to every age group—from toddling trick-or-treaters to pop-culture-obsessed older kids—is a top priority.

If you are looking for a all-in-one destination to wrap up October, Newport World Resorts has put together a jam-packed lineup of Halloween activities. From free-roaming trick-or-treat passport runs to decadent buffet feasts complete with bouncy castles and gaming lounges, here is your ultimate guide to celebrating spooky season in style.

Halloween Centrale: The Fanfair at The Mall

The main hub for family fun this season is the Halloween Fanfair at The Mall, happening from October 23 to 25 at the second-floor vestibule. It is designed to keep kids entertained while catering to parents and collector relatives who love pop culture.

Throughout the three-day festival, kids can meet featured characters, enter the cosplay and costume contests, and explore the National Swap Meet—a haven for die-cast model collectors, toy enthusiasts, and pop-culture fans featuring vendor tables and peer-to-peer trades.

The Main Event: Sunday Trick-or-Treat Expedition

The highlight of the weekend takes place on Sunday, October 25, starting at 2:00 PM. Each participating child receives an official activity passport to complete fun stations, including:

  • Basket redemption and face painting
  • Photo booth keepsakes
  • Arcade stops at Timezone and Limitless
  • A full trick-or-treat route around participating mall establishments

Some details to remember though:
