As we entered the beginning of summer and reached the third chapter of 2022, a new season, Women’s Month was welcomed and celebrated with open arms.
Last March 4, 2022, Rustan’s The Beauty Source opened its doors to fellow women to participate in the online girl talk via the Facebook Live event of their GRLPWR Generation You. Empowered guests Audrey Zubiri, Daphne Paez, Happy Ongpauco-Tiu, and Yanna Cowper shared their inspirational stories and journey to empowerment.
In line with their grand celebration dedicated to women, Laura Lehmann also took centerstage with her Beauty Live: Girl Talk last March 11 with the goal to further increase the volume of our voices.

Laura Lehmann struck the heartstrings of many with her beauty, intelligence, and womanly strength. While she had held her title, Laura knew that her journey was far from over. As a woman of change, Laura aspired to make an even more permanent mark in society, and carved her existence not just by being beautiful, but being confident with the best version of herself.
Part of her objectives is to inspire and lift up other women by revealing her tips, life hacks, and secrets to having a healthy family, ever-flourishing happiness, and gorgeous skin. Laura Lehmann hosted an Instagram Live to celebrate the achievements of women not only in the beauty industry, but the whole world. By instilling how confidence can empower you to be your best self, how you can wear your own crown, and forge your own path as a woman of change.
“Before I joined Binibining [Pilipinas], I was not a tall beauty queen girl. I didn’t even know how to wear makeup; I didn’t even know how to wear heels. Because I’m so tall, my prom date was shorter than me, so I didn’t even have the chance to wear heels.” Laura recalled. “So I went out of my comfort zone joining [the pageant industry]. I knew nothing about it, I wasn’t a model like a lot of them are. But I took a risk and I bet on myself. When you do that, great things happen. I know it sounds cheesy, but do what you want in life and you will be happy.”
Throughout the walkthrough, the beauty queen actively entertained questions from her audience. When she was asked about a particular skin trend that she does differently: “I used to try a lot of trends, because I joined the pageant. But what I like is sticking to the basics. I’ve also kind of learned that less is more,” Laura said. “But lately I’ve just stuck to the basics, wash my face with cold water, have a gentle cleanser for sensitive skin, do the serum, and that’s it.”
Laura topped off advocating confidence and assertiveness by giving life lessons and sharing her recommended staple products to radiate an aura of sophistication and power. “Personally, I’m a big, big fan of Jo Malone, because my best friend in the world, her first job is for Jo Malone,” Laura recalled the tale of her closest friend. “She’s the one who introduced me to different perfumes. Before, I thought you’d go to a store, you buy what smells nice, and that’s it. But, no, that’s not the case. There’s actually different scents for different occasions.”
The walkthrough was rich with stories and lessons behind each brand as Laura related them to her own life and realizations. “When I think about giving advice to women, I actually think about the show Euphoria,” she shared. “There was a scene in the latest episode where Maddy was with Lexi, and Lexi asked her ‘Where do you get your confidence?’ And basically, Maddy says ‘Well, everybody feels stupid, you just have to choose not to.’ So, I kind of like to use that line because it just shows that if you feel confident, you will be confident, and remember everybody feels awkward. So, there’s nothing to worry about.”
