Blue’s Clues Host Josh Dela Cruz Visits The Philippines!
Filipino-American Josh Dela Cruz recently traveled to the Philippines as part of a tourism campaign
Josh Dela Cruz has gained popularity since becoming the host of Blue’s Clues in the United States. Always proud of promoting his Filipino roots, Josh was recently in the country as part of a tourism campaign hosted by the Philippine Tourism Promotions Board.
In several Instagram posts this past week, Josh, his mom, Adelfa, and his dad, Roger, visited several places in the country. Josh shared a post of his visit to Cebu last week.
“Things are going well here in the Philippines…. Much more to come,” he wrote.
In another post, Josh was photographed learning the art of eskrima or arnis.
“Had a great time learning what it feels like to get your butt kicked by a Grand Master of Escrima at @docepareshq , the oldest Escrima school in the Philippines. Maraming Salamat to the instructors and @earthexplorersph for adding this to the itinerary.”
Earth Explorers Travel & Tours, the group who accompanied him on his tour uploaded several photos of Josh’s visit around the Philippines. It also included behind the scenes of his talks with tourism officials
Masungi visit
Aside from his trip to Cebu and Escrima experience, Josh got to visit the Masungi Reserve, which has attracted worldwide attention.
“Masungi is now one of my favorite places in the Philippines. I couldn’t believe something like this exists and is continuously threatened,” he was quoted on the reservation’s Instagram page. The people behind the reservation thank him for visiting the place.
Since catapulting to stardom as Blue’s buddy on the show, Josh has included pieces of his Filipino roots. Some episodes included baking bibingka (rice cake) and bonding with his lola. He also did a Blue’s Clues movie.
Josh has also been active in using his platform to combat racism against Asian Americans in the United States, appearing in several PSAs at the height of the pandemic.
Aside from Blue’s Clues, Josh is known for his roles in Aladdin on Broadway and Waterfall A Musical.
