Set in the quiet but cozy city of Baguio, Cabin Dreams features a lovely mix of modern and vintage interiors—a perfect spot to relax.
Have you ever seen photos of those magnificent A-frame houses nestled somewhere in the woods? An ideal cozy getaway to reconnect with loved ones and create wonderful memories with, these lovely houses make you feel like you’re in a different world altogether. Well, what if we told you that you can stay in one—right here in the Philippines? Cabin Dreams in Baguio truly is the place to be.
Located in a quiet and secure neighborhood, this vacation home features a design aesthetic that’s midcentury modern—with a mix of modern conveniences and vintage decorations. There are beautiful mountain views to enjoy while relaxing on the veranda. Moreover, the location is conveniently set near tourist attractions and local restaurants like Wright Park, Baguio Country Club, and Outlook Drive.
Retro Meets Modern
Cabin Dreams showcases a gorgeous all-black A-frame cabin that is three stories tall. The kitchen and dining area are conveniently located on the ground floor. When you walk through the front doors, a wide and bright open space greets you. What’s more, with its hardwood table and mismatched chairs, the dining area exudes a homey atmosphere.
On the other hand, the kitchen is beautifully designed with white countertops and subway tiles. It even comes with open shelving to store all of your plates, bowls, and glasses! Additionally, the whole kitchen is outfitted with retro-looking but fully functional appliances. But it’s more than just a pretty kitchen. In fact, there’s enough space to cook for large families and groups. Plus, you can even enjoy the stunning view of lush greenery while doing the dishes.
The Cozy Cabin of Your Dreams in Baguio
The bedrooms on this property are spread out across three floors. Each room is spacious and all (except one room) have their own toilet and bath, making it an excellent choice for big groups to stay in, like your whole family or barkada.
Once you step back out into the courtyard, the owners have set up a barbecue area—complete with a grill and chairs. This way, you and your loved ones can enjoy drinks and fun conversations while relishing in the cool Baguio breeze. And when the sun sets and the temperature drops even lower, cozy up on a seat near the fireplace. Let it keep you and your loved ones warm.
Overall, the owners of Cabin Dreams in Baguio really paid attention to the details. It’s evident in how they decorated the space. Just look at the retro pieces scattered all around—from an old typewriter to a rotary phone, and the shell of a 1970s TV. Great for some show and tell, especially for kids who have probably never seen one!
Midcentury Modern Living
When you walk up the first flight of stairs, you will discover what truly makes Cabin Dreams stand out. The second floor features a spacious living area that comes with its own vintage charm. This is seen in the owners’ furniture selection and furnishings. These are paired with a modern touch—like the 55″ TV, which is great for movie nights and binge-watching.
Meanwhile, the high ceiling and wooden decor make you feel like you’ve been transported to a remote cabin in the woods. And when you open the sliding glass doors to the veranda, you’ll find picturesque views of nature.
This property has a multitude of seating options! If the dining area, courtyard, veranda, and living room sofa aren’t enough, there’s a small nook with a table where you can read a book, get some work done, or simply sit and take in the scenery.
Looking for a place to snack and chat? Across the second flight of stairs that lead to the top floor, there is a small area that can be converted into a snack bar. It’s complete with glasses, a sink, and plenty of space to lay out all your food and drinks.
Of Cozy Accommodations
The master bedroom is located to the side of the living room and has all of the basic amenities you could want in a room. What’s more, these second-floor accommodations are also ideal for families with younger children because Cabin Dreams even has an adjoining room with bunk beds.
While all of the rooms in the house are quite spacious, none of them have air conditioning. But then again, we doubt you’ll need it anyway since it’s always cold at night in this city. All of them, however, have fans for those who need a refreshing breeze to fall asleep to.
The final flight of stairs leads to a small loft-style area with a queen-sized bed and a stunning view of the entire second floor and the veranda below. From this vantage point, you can see why it’s called an A-frame cabin. The wood that makes up the side walls and roof forms a triangle, and a wood beam cuts through the middle in a letter A shape.
The third and final bedroom is, in our opinion, the best. Why? Because it is located in the loft area. This spacious bedroom—like the other two on the property—features a queen-sized bed and a modern bathroom. But the best part about it is that because it’s on the top floor, it gets the most light and airflow. Keep the windows open all night for the breeze. Then, wake up to the morning sun filtering in. Lovely!
