Unless we’re confident in our culinary skills to cook in large batches, some of us would prefer to order party trays. Especially when the celebration is a potluck-type celebration, we sometimes get a little competitive with what we bring. While there’s nothing wrong in bringing the traditional bilao of Pinoy-style spaghetti or pansit malabon/palabok, we want something a little more special for Christmas parties.

Apartment 1B

From starters to carvings, Apartment 1B offers gourmet comfort food and requests for families to order 3 days in advance. This Makati-based restaurant’s continental party tray selections are good for up to 10 people and can be packaged in self-heating gift boxes to make sure the dish arrives at the holiday table, freshly cooked. We recommend getting the Vongole Pasta or their signature Apartment 1B Meatloaf with their gravy.

And if it’s the appetizer or the noche buena table that’s lacking dishes, they also have their sweet and savory Yuletide Ham paired with a Pineapple Glaze and Herbed Mayonnaise sauce.

Alba’s Ristorante

Because the Spanish brought Christmas to the Philippines, it makes sense to serve Spanish food during a holiday feast. Alba’s Ristorante, the classic go-to Spanish restaurant, has a delicious paella that goes well with Roast Chicken and most holiday meats. They also have meat dishes like Lengua and Callos de Madrileña!

While their signature paellas include the deliciously complex Paella Valenciana or inky Paella Negra with a rich aioli sauce, their Paella de Bacalao is a feast for the soul with their salted cod.

Ginza Gyu

Kids love Japanese food and Ginza Gyu makes the perfect substitute for steaks. Famous for its Gyuudon (or Beef Bowl), Ginza Gyu also sells its premium beef bowls as party trays. Their steaks, made from the melt-in-the-mouth medium rare wagyuu steaks are served on top of their signature steak rice! All we have to choose is what part of the steak we like.

And for those who can’t eat beef, they also have their 8-hour Roast Kurobuta Party Tray and their Baked Salmon.

Mad Crab PH

Quezon City-based seafood restaurant Mad Crab PH once started as a cloud kitchen during the pandemic and since then, has built a restaurant along Scout Castor in Tomas Morato. If Black Tiger Prawns are getting too expensive in the supermarket or there’s no time to clean, devein, and grill, Mad Crab PH offers shrimp by the grams and in party tray amounts to fulfill that requirement.

But if crab’s more the party pleaser, their Singapore Chili Crab is adjusted to the Philippine palate with the right amount of spice!

So Mot Vietnamese

Looking for a more enjoyable alternative to salad? So Mot Vietnamese Restaurant has fresh or fried spring rolls that may answer everyone’s vegetable daily vegetable quota for the holidays. Filled with either chicken or shrimp, the spring rolls are delicious finger food and palate cleansers if the food on the table is a bit too rich for one’s taste.

Sushi Shokunin by Chef Migs

Another Japanese selection for those sushi lovers this Christmas, Sushi Shokunin By Chef Migs offers various sushi party trays with recipes involving either salmon or kani. Offering both traditional sushi rolls and modern fusion, Sushi Shokunin delights with its Imperial Box and Moriawase selections. Their boxes serve up to 53 pieces at PHP 2000, which isn’t a bad find!
