Dingdong Dantes and Charos Santos are starring in a movie together. Meanwhile, Irene Villamor is the director!
It’s not all the time you see stars from different networks work together. Dingdong Dantes and Charo Santos are joining forces to do a movie in partnership with Cornerstone Studios and Dingdong’s production company AgostoDos.
Dingdong shared some photos from the meeting last December 2. While the storyline hasn’t been revealed yet, Irene Villamor, who directed Nadine Lustre’s starter Ulan and Bela Padilla’s Meet Me in St. Gallen will be on board as director.
In addition, the movie’s title is called Love after Love.
Dingdong Dantes: Years in the making
On Instagram, Dingdong, whose hosting and dad duties have kept him busy, shared that the project was years in the making.
“It’s finally happening! After years in the making, this script will be brought to life. Sometime next year.”
Dingdong’s wife, actress Marian Rivera, also shared her excitement.
Charo, whose show MMK is about to wrap up this month, shared photos from the meeting as well. She captioned, “Three years in the making.”
Moreover, Erikson Raymundo, Cornerstone Entertainment President, shared some photos from the meeting. He mentioned that the movie is just one of many projects they are working on for 2023.
“It is my honor to partner with two Creative and Entertainment Icons – Charo Santos and Malou Santos. We can finally announce this very special project starring Ma’am Charo and Dingdong Dantes with Cornerstone’s very own Irene Villamor as writer-director. Dingdong will also join us as co-producer,” Erikson said.
“This is just the first of our many projects together with Ma’am Charo and Tita Malou which would also include Piolo Pascual and Kyle Echarri’s upcoming movie The Ride.”
Balancing Act
The year 2022 has been a good one for both Dingdong and Charo. Dingdong is currently hosting Family Feud and wrapped up two shows – Alternate and Jose and Maria’s Bonggavilla with Marian Rivera.
Charo, meanwhile, continues to earn recognition for her recent film Kun Maupay Man It Panahon, where she won the Eddy’s and FAMAS Best Actress awards. She has also been focused on being a doting grandmother.
