Tech giant Google celebrates International Women’s Day 2022 on March 8 with the international community. Google’s website showed its tribute through the different roles women play from mother to frontliners as the world continues to battle a pandemic and an ongoing war in between Ukraine and Russia.
“On International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating progress on the path to gender equality,” the tech giant said.

#BreakThe Bias
The International Women’s Day 2022 theme focuses on #BreakTheBias. On the website internationalwomensday.com, the statement goes:
Imagine a gender equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women’s equality.
Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

The celebration of International Women’s Day has been remembered since the early 20th Century. Originally celebrated in February, it was moved to March 8 and has been adopted as the global date.
Since then, International Women’s Day has been commemorated around the world. However, women continue to face challenges as authoritarian leaders are among those that have been cracking down on women’s groups who have been vocal in various issues in their respective countries.
