Janna Dominguez and Mickey Ablan’s Daughter, Yzabel, Passes Away
For her family and friends, Yzabel Ablan’s life was filled with resilience and joy.
Children display a remarkable level of resilience even against diseases that have a high fatality rate. The late 20-year-old daughter of Janna Dominguez and Mickey Ablan, Yzabel, was one of them. Born with a congenital heart issue, the young lady went through multiple surgeries and lived her life with a pacemaker — a machine that monitored and controlled her heart to allow her to live a fulfilling life. Unfortunately, Yzabel lost her life to sudden heart failure and a lung infection.
“Sa sobrang ayaw niya nakakaabala ng ibang tao, hindi niya sinabi samen mga nararamdaman niya.
Nagpa-checkup siya the day before and doctor gave her meds na kaya iniisip namen okay na. Then bigla
na lang ganon,” Janna writes on her Instagram. “Pero after multiple attempts to revive her, wala na talaga. God called her back home na.”
The young lady also studied in Enderun, taking up Entrepreneurship.

The Brave “Little Butterfly”
Congenital heart disease usually means that a person’s heart has multiple problems and people can detect them via ultrasound so that when the baby is born, there are surgeries to remedy the issue. Yzabel Ablan reportedly underwent surgeries such as a shunt to drain the excess fluid from her brain to prevent it from damaging her vision and mind. She also had a heart valve installed to allow her heart to keep on pumping. That’s a lot for a young girl to go through within the last 20 years of her life.
But she powered through it. Yzabel shared whatever love and joy she could muster with everyone around her. Doing so earned her an endearing nickname from her stepmom, actress and model Iwa Moto, “little butterfly.”
“My little butterfly. Thank you. Still can’t find words to say other than I love you so much and I will miss you. See you in my dreams, my little warrior. Watch over us, anak. Mommy loves you so much,” writes Iwa.
Iwa also adds how Yzabel taught her how to be a mom. “Siya ang 1st ko sa madaming bagay. Tinuruan niya akong maging mommy. Maging patient, she always tells me that to be fully happy. I have to learn to forgive. And she is a survivor. Sobrang daming mong pinagdaanan, anak. Nalampasan mo yun. And you became the best version of yourself.”
A Mother’s Love Transcends Life and Death
As parents, we never forget our children and all of us always pray that they outlive us. But there are circumstances like Congenital Heart Diseases that may make our children’s lives deviate from that outcome. Yet, we will always remember the beauty, the joy, and the love-filled life our children leave behind when they go ahead to meet our Creator. For the love and joy Yzabel Ablan left behind with her parents is the one they can spread to the siblings she’s survived by: Micael (Caely), Julliann (Gabby), and Leon.
Her mom, Janna Dominguez, is an actress known for her role as Maria in Pepito Manaloto.
