Jennifer Aniston Opens Up About IVF and the Struggle of Getting Pregnant

In an interview with Allure for its December issue, Jennifer Aniston spoke about the pressures of getting pregnant and forgiving her parents.

Jennifer Aniston got real about the pressures of getting pregnant and IVF. The Morning Show star opened up to Allure for the first time about the tabloid reports that she didn’t want to have kids when she was still married. She also spoke about mending ties with her family and having zero regrets about her life and career.

Jennifer Aniston on IVF and pregnancy

In the interview, Jennifer, who is 53, spoke up about her struggles with conceiving a child. The actress married twice—first to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and to Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2017.

“I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” she shared.

“All the years and years and years of speculation. It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it and would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it,” she added.

Looking back now, the Friends actress expressed she has zero regrets. Moreover, she debunked tabloid reports back then that she was selfish and was too busy to start a family. This even led her writing an op-ed for the Huffington Post back in 2016.

“I got so frustrated. Hence that op-ed I wrote. I was like, ‘I’ve just got to write this because it’s so maddening and I’m not superhuman to the point where I can’t let it penetrate and hurt,’” she said.

Jennifer Aniston on making peace with her family

In the same interview, Jennifer got candid about how her parents’ divorce affected her and how she eventually forgave them. It’s known in Hollywood that Jennifer was estranged from her mom.

“I forgave my mom,” she disclosed. “I forgave my father. I’ve forgiven my family.”

For Jennifer, it was very important to not have toxicity in the family. “It’s toxic to have that resentment, that anger. I learned that by watching my mom never let go of it. I remember saying, ‘Thank you for showing me what never to be.’ So that’s what I mean about taking the darker things that happen in our lives, the not-so-happy moments, and trying to find places to honor them because of what they have given to us.”

Jennifer on if she will marry again

Asked if she’s ready to fall in love and get married again, Jennifer said, “Never say never, but I don’t have any interest.”

“I’d love a relationship. Who knows? There are moments I want to just crawl up in a ball and say, ‘I need support.’ It would be wonderful to come home and fall into somebody’s arms and say, ‘That was a tough day.’”

Aside from The Morning Show, Jennifer has been busy promoting her hair care line LOLAVIE.
