Joanna Robles Tolentino: Expecting the Second Time Around

Joanna Robles Tolentino epitomizes the profound bond of motherly love. After marrying her longtime sweetheart Raphael Tolentino and welcoming her first son Javi, the young mom eagerly anticipates the latest addition to her growing family: a daughter, whom she hopes will be her “mini-me” this time around.
If there’s anything Joanna’s pregnancies have taught her, it’s that being a mother doesn’t just start during childbirth. “I’ve already felt that I was a mom even just at the time [my babies were] growing inside of me,” she explains. “Since the first trimester, God gave me a glimpse of the sacrifices and hardships I will continue to go through. From the sleepless nights and restless kicks, I already knew and felt the bond that we have is incomparable to anybody else.”
Being in-sync with her babies
“Not only do I feel that my babies are a part of me, but I know that they also know me more than anybody else in this world,” she continues. “They felt my heartbeat as they were growing inside of me. They even knew my emotions as I was carrying them. So I knew that when they were born, the bond that we had while I was pregnant, will always be the same.”
For Joanna, this intuitive connection was something that could not be broken, even after bringing her son into this world. “When Javi was stuck in the NICU during his first few days, I already had an inkling that he wasn’t feeling well — even when we were in separate rooms. At the very start, I already caught a glimpse of the power of motherhood. Not only is it unconditional, but it’s also a connection that no one else in the world will feel and understand until you have your own.”
A loving message for her children
The same goes for her daughter, whom she reveals is due sometime this August. While in eager anticipation of her birth, Joanna shares a heartfelt message to her children. “Thank you for giving me the privilege of being your mom. For allowing me to love and nurture you through the years. Know that all your dreams and all your successes are mine too, and I will forever be proud of who you are and whoever you will be.”
“Everything I did, always had the both of you in mind so I could guide you and be a better person for you. All I wish is for you two to live this life of yours with purpose and without fear,” she ends. “You will always have me and your dad cheering you on and loving you unconditionally.”
With unwavering devotion and strong commitment, Joanna embraces this new facet of motherhood as a beacon of love and gentle strength for her family.
