Kim Kardashian Is Now Legally Single
A judge grants the reality star Kim Kardashian’s request for her to drop the name West after she filed divorce from rapper Kanye West last year
Kim Kardashian is now single. A Los Angeles court granted the reality star’s request to drop her estranged husband Kanye West’s name after she file for divorce last year.
According to a report from Reuters, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steve Cochran granted the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star’s request through a bifurcation proceeding while the two sides continue to iron out issues. Kanye has yet to comment on the status.
A sort of freedom for Kim Kardashian
The request is good news for Kim who filed three months ago for her to legally use her name, ‘Kardashian’, again. Kanye has previously tried to block her request.
Kim filed for divorce last year after almost eight years of marriage. The estranged couple got married in 2014 and share four children – North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
The marriage is the first for Kanye, who won several music awards. This is the third marriage for Kim who was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas and NBA Player Kris Humphries.
