As the Manila Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 97th anniversary, they’ll be performing a live concert entitled OPERA GALA 2023: The MSO 97th Anniversary Concert on January 22, 2023, at 8 in the evening in the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati. It’s a great way to introduce children to classical music and spend time with the family! After all, they are one of the country’s most active artistic institutions. For years, they’ve enriched the vibrant cultural life of Filipinos through fine orchestral music performances. Moreover, they actively support the development of young Filipino talents through quality music education.
Manila Symphony Orchestra pays homage to their first live performance
Manila Symphony Orchestra takes a trip down memory lane and pays homage to its very first live performance at the Manila Grand Opera House. They gathered four of the most respected and talented Opera singers in the Philippines today. They’ll perform Italian arias that will take you through the
different periods and techniques of opera — from Bel Canto to Verismo. Families can enjoy a medley of
classic opera from The Barber of Seville, La Triaviata, Tosca, Turandot, and many more, too.
Taking center stage at the celebratory concert are the wife and husband team of soprano Rachelle Gerodias and baritone Byeong In Park. There’s also tenor Ivan Niccolo Neri and soprano Bianca Lopez-Aguila. The opera classics will be performed together with the Philippine Vocal Ensemble. Additionally, masterpieces by Verdi, Puccini, Bellini, and Mozart will be performed by the Manila Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Marlon Chen.
