Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes on Relating to Their Characters for Rewind
During an interview, the couple shared insights on working together again in a movie and the excitement for the Metro Manila Film Festival, which starts on December 25.
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes have been busy in the last few weeks promoting their movie Rewind—an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival. During an interview for their latest endorsement NWOW, the couple was asked how they can relate to their respective characters.
“Nakakarelate naman pero hindi saktong-sakto sa buhay,” Marian said. “Yung character ko doon ay bilang nanay, mapagmahal na nanay, mapag-alaga na asawa… so very relatable talaga pero hindi yung circumstances na sakto na nangyari.”
Dingdong for his part shared there are moments from the film that he can relate to. ” S’yempre yung role as a husband kahit papaano malaking bagay na mag-asawa kami kasi mas nagampanan namin yung roles ng maayos.”
“Like iniisip namin paano ko kung single kami baka iba yung interpretation sa character. Plus [nakatulong] yung tips ni direk Mae [Cruz-Alviar] plus napakagandang script,” he added.
Giving Filipino Movies a Chance
This year’s festival comprises 10 movies—compared to the usual 8 films. Dingdong, whose company AgostoDos is also a co-producer of the film, said that they’re optimistic that many Filipino viewers, especially families will go to the cinemas to watch.
“Isa lang po ang ibig sabihin nun. Yung mga producers po natin, nandiyan po yung dedication nila para magbigay sa atin ng maraming pelikula. Kaya sana, ganun din ang mga manonood. Sana lumabas sila on Christmas Day kasi we’re so eager to give them these quality content.”
First announced early this year, Rewind serves as Dingdong and Marian’s reunion on the silver screen. Aside from Star Cinema and Agosto Dos, APT Entertainment is also a co-producer of the film.
Rewind opens on December 25 as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival.
