Nostalgia Returns as Home Along Da Riles Cast Reunites for New Movie

Home Along Da Riles: The Reunion opens in cinemas on June 17

For many Filipino families who grew up in the 90s, it was more than just a comedy show—it became part of their weekly bonding moments at home. Now, after years of anticipation, the beloved Cosme family returns to the big screen for a heartfelt reunion in Home Along Da Riles: The Reunion, arriving in cinemas on June 17.

What We Know So Far

In the teaser trailer released on May 6, Azon, played by Nova Villa, is seen reminiscing about her late husband Kevin Cosme, originally portrayed by the late Comedy King Dolphy.

Kevin’s children—Bill, Bob, Bing, and Baldo—together with Estong, Kevin’s adopted son, and Maybe, Azon’s adopted daughter, begin to worry about Azon’s health as she continues longing for Kevin.

“Kevin, ikaw lang naman ang buhay ko eh. Kailan mo ba ako susunduin?” Azon says in the teaser.

The trailer also brings back familiar faces that longtime fans grew up watching. Alongside the emotional family moments are comedic scenes and misadventures reminiscent of the original series’ charm—something that many viewers associate with Dolphy’s signature humor and heartwarming portrayal of Filipino family life.

A Reunion That Fans Have Been Waiting For

Even before the movie announcement, members of the cast had already been teasing fans online through reunion photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes clips shared on social media.

Back in 2023, several cast members reunited in support of the remastered version of the first Home Along Da Riles film, sparking nostalgia among longtime viewers.

“Nakakamiss silang lahat. And also our fans will probably be very happy na nandito kami para magbigay saya muli sa kanila,” Nova said.

Vandolph also reflected on carrying the legacy of Dolphy and the close bond shared by the cast throughout the years.

“Yung legacy ng tatay Kevin namin ay dala-dala na namin lahat iyon lalo na pag magkakasama kami,” he shared.

He added that working on Home Along Da Riles always felt like being part of a real family.

The Lasting Legacy of Home Along Da Riles

First airing in 1992 on ABS-CBN, followed the story of Kevin Cosme, a widowed father raising his children—Bill, Bob, Bing, and Baldo—while living near the railroad tracks. Despite financial struggles and everyday challenges, the show became known for its humor, resilience, and portrayal of close-knit Filipino family life.

The sitcom ran for over a decade until 2003 and later spawned a spin-off, Home Along Da Airport, which aired from 2003 to 2005. Two films featuring the original cast were also released in 1993 and 1997 under Star Cinema.
