There’s something magical about walking into One World Deli. At first glance, it doesn’t feel like the usual grocery or restaurant—it feels like you’ve stumbled into a place where food tells stories.

The first thing that greets you is the abundance—fresh produce so vibrant it looks like it came straight from the farm, shelves lined with artisanal finds, wines waiting to be uncorked at a family celebration, cheeses that beg to be shared on a lazy Sunday afternoon, loaves of bread still carrying the warmth of the oven and everyday essentials that somehow feel elevated. Every corner is intentional, like it was built for those of us who find joy in gathering around the table.

Where Flavors and Joy Linger

What struck me most was how the space moves seamlessly from marketplace to restaurant. You could be selecting a slab of marbled steak, and minutes later, that same cut is beautifully prepared and served with a glass of red, right there at your table. Or one moment you’re considering which cut of salmon to take home, and the next sushi chefs are turning that same piece of fish into a dish that’s light, fresh and unforgettable.

The menu doesn’t feel borrowed or repetitive—it’s got its own vibe, always changing based on what’s freshest or what was just delivered or flown in. The pizzas, crisp and wood-fired, the generous sandwiches, the kind of gelato that makes everyone feel like a kid again, and the variety of salads that make you forget they’re “healthy”—it’s all proof that good food doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t try too hard, it simply celebrates good ingredients prepared well.

And yet, One World Deli is more than a place to eat or shop—it’s a space, reminiscent of a home, that invites you to linger. You don’t rush through the aisles here; you wander, you taste, you discover. You sit down with friends or family and suddenly it’s hours later, and no one’s in a hurry to leave. It reminds us that food, at its best, is about connection—between cultures, between farmers and families, and between the people we share it with.

Where Family Memories Are Made

For my family, this is where One World Deli becomes more than just another restaurant or grocery store—it’s an experience, a memory, something we look forward to especially on weekends. With six grown kids, it’s rare to find a place where everyone’s happy. Yet somehow, this is it. When we visit, some of them make a beeline for the sushi bar, while the carnivores select their cut of meat, others explore the counters to see what’s new, and there are always a couple who end up at the gelato freezer debating flavors like it’s the most important decision of the day. Our other no-fail, family favorites are the wood-fired pizzas, burgers and pastas. But, what I love most is how, once we all settle in, nobody’s in a rush to leave. Unlike in other places where we get the bill and go the moment we’re done with our meal. Here, we get so comfortable that conversations stretch, we always manage to find new things to order, and suddenly hours have passed without us realizing.

As a mother, those moments mean everything to me. At this stage in life, with kids who are carving out their own paths, it’s not always easy to gather them around one table. And here, it feels effortless. One World Deli gives us the kind of space where family time flows naturally, without planning or pressure. We come for the food, yes—but what keeps us coming back is the way it makes us feel connected, to each other and to the simple joy of sharing a meal.

And this is why One World Deli earns my seal of approval as this year’s Editor’s Choice in the Parents’ Choice Awards!

They bridge global flavors and local craftsmanship, and they make everyday meals become moments worth remembering. It’s a destination, and one that has become a part of our family’s story. I hope it becomes yours too.
