The Supermodels of the 90s Grace Vogue’s September 2023 Issue
Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington are back together on the September covers of US Vogue and British Vogue.
If you grew up in the 90s, chances are the names Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington ring a bell. After all, they were four of the iconic models of their time. From endorsements to MTV. They were always on every cover of a magazine, splashed in the newspapers, and headlining international fashion shows around the world. Now in their 50s, the four — who are also moms — reunited and graced the September covers of US Vogue and British Vogue.
In the caption, Vogue said that the four gathered “for a conversation about career, love, family, and what life is really like inside the “Supermodel Bubble.” In addition, the topic was explored in an upcoming four-part series from Apple TV+ titled ‘The Super Models.'”
What does the reunion mean for the four?
Cindy wrote on Instagram that she felt nostalgic to be reunited with the three.
“Feeling very lucky to call these incredible women lifelong friends,” Cindy said. She also thanked Vogue lead by Anna Wintour and British Vogue’s Edward Enninful for putting them together.
In fact, Cindy’s daughter Kaia Gerber has followed her in the modeling scene.
Meanwhile, Naomi, who recently welcomed her second child wrote: “A celebration that transcends an era! Cindy, Christy, Linda, and I together again, gracing the cover of @voguemagazine @BritishVogue. This cover symbolizes friendship, legacy, and the invincible spirit of fashion.”
Christy said she was excited to be with her contemporaries again. “I am so excited to reunite with @cindycrawford, @naomi, and @lindaevangelista for the September cover of @voguemagazine @britishvogue which played a huge role in each of our careers from the start.”
“Being together on a shoot again brought back so many fun memories.” The model tied the knot with actor Edward Burns and has two kids.
Lastly, Linda, who is a single mom to a 16-year-old, said she was happy to be with the others as well.
The four will headline the documentary The Super Models, which will be streamed on Apple + TV this September.
