7 Sweet Gifts We Can Give This Valentines

With Valentines closing in, we’re probably scrambling for gifts. So here are some sweet Valentines gift ideas we can give or our teens or young adults can give their partners.

Valentines Day is a day we show all the love we can give to our partners. For all the times they dealt with our meltdowns and more. Unfortunately, Valentine’s Day here in the Philippines also comes with something: traffic. Even with COVID-19, the temptation to go out is still there after staying inside the house for so long. But gift-giving is also a form of love language. Here are some Valentines’ gift ideas that might help.

1. Valentines-themed Donuts

Donuts are easy to keep and fight off the munchies quite well, making them a pretty sweet Valentines’ Day gift idea. They’re pretty enough to be gifts, easy to find, and are known to have long shelf lives. Krispy Kreme’s coming out with #NewOriginal flavors for their Valentines’ Day-themed donuts. There are some with fruit puree inside, another with white chocolate and almonds, or the classic Vanilla creme. There are a lot of choices and it’s easy to order one via Grab or Foodpanda.

2. Eclairs, macarons, and other European pastries

Especially if you’re planning to spend Valentine’s Day by binge-watching Bridgerton then, buying eclairs, macarons, or cakes will help set the mood. Belgian chocolates with their bittersweet flavors are one wicked motivator to get Love wafting into the air. Or, if you’re hoping to recreate a romantic tea party with your partner then, Dylan’s Patisserie can help fulfill that with their various European-themed pastries.

3. Wines and Chocolate

When you have no idea what to get as a Valentine’s Day gift, wines and chocolate never fail. It’s rare that moms like us get a chance to drink our favorite bubbly or booze. Marks and Spencer has always been known to sell goodies for corporate gifts or we just want something classier. Their Swiss and Belgian Chocolates are like our guilty pleasure and it’ll be a great thing to pair with their wines.

4. Starter jewelry

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and they’re not wrong. Some family fortunes were built on buying loose diamond stones that they converted into a necklace, ring, earrings, etc. However, buying diamonds or jewelry can be quite a hit or miss especially if they don’t have a certification from the Gem Institute of Asia (GIA). Or if you have a trusted jeweler like contacts from LVNA by Drake Dustin or MC Diamonds, that’s okay too. Starter jewelry may sound like a weird idea as a first Valentine’s gift but they do appreciate in price and become heirlooms if they’re high quality.

5. Grazing Boxes

Grazing boxes or charcuterie boards are always a cute idea for a Valentine’s gift to send especially if your partner is diabetic. They come with cheese, an assortment of cold cuts, and can even come with wine. However, it’s best if you order this early and have it delivered on the day itself. That way, you’re assured that the ingredients are fresh. Also, we’d consider it a break for our sweet-tooths if we’ve been eating a lot of ice cream and sweets lately.

6. Dried flowers

Fresh flowers die quickly which is why dried flowers might be a better idea for a Valentine’s gift. Some say that dried flower bouquets can last up to 2 years which is a lot better than just dying a few days after being bought. Especially if your house is more rustic in design, dried flowers will fit nicely with the house interior. Also, dried flowers will most likely not attract bugs and your furbabies.

7. Spotify Playlist

Some of us need more music in our lives and buying them a premium Spotify account is a sweet Valentine’s gift idea. But also sharing a Spotify playlist is a cute way of expressing our love. We can choose the music that reminds us of them or set up a romantic dinner with Spotify music playing in the background. At times, we can’t be with our partners especially if they’re front lines but the music we choose for them can help them keep on going.

Express your love with these Valentines gift ideas

When we can’t express our love physically, a lot of times we resort to Valentine’s gifts. May they be small, may they be big — what matters is the intention that goes with the gift. Love shouldn’t be equated to how much one is willing to spend on the person but rather, that they’re even willing to buy something for you because they know how much it means to you. Just make sure when you intend to deliver it, the rider does so without bouncing the package around.
