Robert Irwin Commemorates His Parents’ Love Of 31 Years
Robert Irwin shares the love his parents had that created a “legacy larger than life.”
For many of us who grew up watching the late and famous Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, we know his death happened all too suddenly. After he died as a result of being stung in the chest by a stingray, his son Robert Irwin, who is also a photographer, has passed down the love for the often misunderstood reptiles children everywhere. Recently, he posted a picture of his parents from 31 years ago. He proudly writes, “It was on this day 31 years ago that my parents got engaged and set in motion what would become a legacy larger than life. I love my mum and dad so much… I’m proud to be their son <3.”
Steve Irwin: The Man Who Inspired A Love for Animals
The late Steve Irwin inspired a love for animals in anyone. And with Terri supporting him, he immortalized himself in history as the foundation for any person who wanted to learn more about animals. By first starting out with the most misunderstood creature: the reptiles, he started a whole series on Animal Planet that got us hooked into researching further about these creatures.
He created an environment where animals are not just “mindless” creatures. Rather, they are responding to us based on their nature. Just like how kids do when they act out of frustration or when we think they’re being matigas ang ulo. His approach to wildlife created a climate of understanding and empathy that transcends basic interactions. Robert and Bindi, his children, have every right to be proud of their dad and mom’s relationship. Especially as they continue their legacy through the Australian Zoo, the Crocodile Lodge, and the Wildlife Warriors.
Crikey! That’s one amazing legacy!
Love can create and build a lot of things. The late Steve Irwin, who coincidentally also has a day this coming November 15, built a great foundation that inspired many generations to love and understand the nature of animals, further immortalizing himself with the many organizations he built to educate families about animals everywhere. Today, his legacy lives to continuously inspire other kids to help make a better place for animals.
Bindi, Steve’s daughter, and her husband, Chandler Powell, appear to be starting their daughter, Grace, early in the ways of wildlife conservation and animal whispering.
Robert is currently using photography as his medium to help educate people about animals on his Instagram.
