FDCP’s Dokyumentado Film Festival Has Every Story For Families To Watch!
The Film Development Council of the Philippines puts the spotlight on documentaries, which can be watched for free until December 7
The Philippine Development Council of the Philippines opened its documentary film festival, Dokyumentado, on November 23. The festival spotlights documentaries by filmmakers, including student filmmakers, on different stories affecting the country.
At opening night held at Shangri-La Plaza, FDCP opened with Motherland by Ramona Diaz, whose other documentary And So It Begins, is also part of the film festival. Motherland dives into the lives of mothers and medical experts inside Jose Fabella Hospital with stories on childbirth, maternity care, and family planning.
Accompanying Motherland is the short film Mama by Alexandra Brizuela. The film tells the story of two mothers whose husbands and children died because of the Duterte administration’s War on Drugs.
Six other documentaries are also available which can be watched for free at Cinematheque in Manila. Six short films accompany these documentaries. You can check the schedule on the link below.
