Super Mario Galaxy Trailer Drops: A Cosmic Adventure Parents and Kids Will Love

Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy return as the voices of Mario and Princess Peach

If you or your kids are fans of Super Mario games or loved the Super Mario Bros. movie, get ready for a new cosmic adventure! Universal Pictures has just unveiled the official trailer for Super Mario Galaxy, inspired by the beloved Nintendo game.

Returning to voice their iconic roles are Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad. Joining the star-studded cast is Oscar winner Brie Larson, who brings Princess Rosalina to life for the first time.

A New Galaxy to Explore

The trailer opens with a comical scene featuring Mario and Luigi’s longtime rival, King Bowser—now shrunken in size along with his castle—showing off a painting to the brothers. Luigi politely compliments the artwork, while Mario bluntly calls it “trash,” prompting Bowser to throw one of his signature tantrums before storming back inside his castle.

The adventure quickly expands to dazzling new settings. Mario and Princess Peach gaze in awe at colorful fireworks before Peach and Toad leap into one of the vivid, whimsical worlds the Galaxy games are known for. Soon after, Mario and Luigi are seen racing through new landscapes on motorcycles, giving fans a glimpse of the film’s high-energy pace.

A new foe, Bowser Jr., makes his debut, boldly announcing that he’ll be “taking his dad with him.” The trailer closes with Princess Rosalina, voiced by Brie Larson, battling a giant robot in a visually stunning sequence.

The Sequel

Super Mario Galaxy follows the blockbuster 2023 Super Mario Bros. movie, which earned $1.3 billion worldwide. The franchise has become a cultural phenomenon over the decades, spawning countless games, toys, and TV shows — and now continuing its success on the big screen.
