Helping Little Fighters Heal: TP Philippines and House of Hope Unite for Mindanao Families

TP Philippines announced that it is partnering with the House of Hope to support children battling cancer in Mindanao

When you’re a parent, illness is already difficult. But when the diagnosis is cancer, everything shifts. Routines are replaced with hospital visits, and everyday worries suddenly feel small compared to the fight your child is facing.

Cancer does not choose age. Even children are not immune. And while some families have access to treatment, many in far-flung areas of Mindanao struggle with distance, cost, and limited resources.

It’s a reality that calls for more than sympathy — it calls for action.

Recognizing this urgent need, TP Philippines (formerly Teleperformance) has partnered with House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer, Inc. as its beneficiary under its corporate social responsibility arm, the Citizen of the World (COTW) Foundation.

The partnership was formalized through a contract signing between Jeffrey Johnson, Chief People Officer of TP in the Philippines and President of COTW Foundation, and Arleen Aportadera, Manager of House of Hope — a shared commitment to stand with families navigating one of life’s toughest battles.

A Safe Space for Healing

Established in 2004, House of Hope serves as a “halfway house” for children undergoing cancer treatment in Mindanao and their families. But it offers more than temporary shelter.

The foundation provides holistic medical support, psychosocial services, and financial assistance — recognizing that healing is not only physical. Through programs like Kids for Hope and the Mindanao Pediatric Cancer Care Network, the organization has helped elevate the Southern Philippines Medical Center into a regional hub for pediatric oncology, giving families in the South better access to specialized care closer to home.

For families, that means fewer impossible choices between staying near their support system and seeking life-saving treatment.

Turning Corporate Responsibility into Real Impact

For Johnson, the collaboration reflects something deeper than philanthropy.

“This collaboration with House of Hope reflects our belief that corporate responsibility must translate into real, measurable impact, especially for the most vulnerable in our communities,” he shared.

Through COTW, TP Philippines will support initiatives focused on improving access to treatment, promoting early detection programs, and strengthening child life services — efforts that help young patients cope emotionally and mentally during difficult stages of care.

As TP continues to grow its presence across the country, this partnership ensures that expansion is matched with purpose — especially in Mindanao, where the need remains significant.

A Partnership Built on Care and Resilience

More than a one-time outreach, this alliance aims to build a lasting foundation of care, resilience, and shared responsibility. It’s about showing families that they are seen, supported, and not alone in their journey.

For parents currently caring for a child with cancer, the road may feel overwhelming. But there are communities and organizations ready to walk alongside you.

Through TP Philippines and House of Hope, more children in Mindanao are being given not just treatment — but a fighting chance.

And sometimes, hope begins with knowing someone is standing beside you.
