Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre Finale Brings Sacrifices, Heartaches, and New Beginnings
Just when fans thought the story was ending, it seems the world of Sang’gre is only beginning another chapter
After almost a year on air, Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre aired its final episode on May 8, leaving viewers emotional over the sacrifices made, the reunions long-awaited, and the possibilities teased for the future of the beloved telefantasya franchise.
From shocking twists to heartfelt goodbyes, the finale reminded longtime fans why Encantadia continues to resonate across generations.
Here’s a look back at the biggest moments from the finale—and the clues pointing to what may come next.
The original sang’gres become Bathalumans
While the new generation of sang’gres searched for their spiritual animals, the original gem keepers—Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya—faced one final mission: defeating the dark gem that had slowly weakened them.
Knowing what was at stake, the four sisters vowed to protect Flamarra, Deia, Adamus, Terra, and all of Encantadia from the Dark God Gargan.
During the final battle, the original sang’gres found themselves fighting their own successors, who tried to remind them of who they truly were beneath the darkness. Realizing the only way to destroy the remaining fragments of the dark gem was through sacrifice, the sisters chose to give up their lives for the realm.
Their sacrifice ultimately led to Encantadia’s victory.
In return, Cassiopeia—the first queen of Lireo and now the supreme deity of Devas—transformed Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya into Bathalumans tasked to watch over the elements of fire, wind, water, and earth.
Terra’s prophecy fulfilled
In book one, it was prophesied that Danaya’s second daughter, Terra, would kill Mitena. She finally did it in book two after giving Mitena many chances to turn good.
Armea and Flamarra reunite with the people they love
One of the emotional and kilig arcs in Book One centered on Flamarra and Soldarious, the mashna or captain of Sapiro, who helped and guided her following the death of her father, Azulan, and the disappearance of Pirena.
As the story progressed, viewers learned that Soldarious had long been in love with Flamarra.
However, after Mitena’s defeat, Soldarious was pressured into marrying Armea, the queen of Sapiro, upon the advice of his aunt Tabun. The arrangement caused heartbreak for Flamarra.
Despite this, both women eventually found their own paths to happiness.
After Gargan’s defeat, Soldarious stepped down from power and gave Armea the freedom to be with Daron, the soldier from Mine-a-ve whom she truly loved. The two later married.
Meanwhile, Soldarious finally reunited with Flamarra as they assumed their roles as rulers of Hathoria together.
The sang’gres embrace their spiritual animals
As Gargan gained possession of the fire and wind gems, Cassiopeia sought help from the higher bathalas and uncovered the existence of sacred spiritual animals destined to guide the new sang’gres.
After enduring several trials, the sang’gres were eventually accepted by their respective guardians: Drakessi, Pegazzo, Aqualon, and Tyrus.
The bond between the sang’gres and their spiritual animals became one of the key turning points in the war against Gargan, giving the new heroes the strength they needed for the final battle.
A new generation rises in Encantadia
The finale also gave several characters a second chance at life—and a chance to rebuild the future of Encantadia.
Mira and Lira, daughters of Amihan and Pirena, were both revived. Lira later gave birth to a daughter named Ybrahima, named after her parents Ybrahim and Amihan. The child is Lira’s daughter with Agnem, the last nymfa who died during the war.
Mira, meanwhile, vowed to guide her sister Flamarra as the new queen of Hathoria.
In Lireo, Terra declined the throne following Alena’s death and instead asked that her sister Gaiea rule the kingdom. Cassiopeia eventually granted Gaiea another chance at life, allowing her to ascend the throne.
Deia, meanwhile, temporarily parted ways with Terra, Adamus, and Flamarra to help rebuild Mine-a-ve. Before she left, Adamus confessed his love for her once more and expressed hope that they would one day reunite.
Is Aquil the next villain?
While the finale tied up several storylines, it also opened the door to a possible continuation.
After Gaiea became queen, she asked Cassiopeia if she could see her father Aquil once more. But despite using her powers, Cassiopeia could not locate him.
Elsewhere in Devas, Muros and Myka confronted Azulan, who remained imprisoned alongside Aquil after Emre’s death. Azulan then revealed that Aquil had escaped.
In the closing moments of the finale, viewers saw Aquil pledging loyalty to Gargan after the dark god heard his call for help. Gargan then hinted at searching for the other gods hidden underground.
The scene strongly teased a possible continuation centered on the looming war involving the bathalas and bathalumans—something longtime fans are already eager to see explored.
Closing the book… for now
With the end of Sang’gre, fans bid a temporary goodbye to the world of Encantadia.
But like many fantasy stories passed from one generation to another, the legacy of Encantadia continues to live on through the lessons it leaves behind—about family, sacrifice, courage, and choosing light even in the darkest moments.
And if the finale proved anything, it’s that the story of Encantadia is far from over.
