From the Editor: A Milestone Year for the Parents’ Choice Awards

In a world filled with endless options, the Parents’ Choice Awards continue to celebrate the brands, products, and services that have earned something far more valuable: a parent’s trust

Five years ago, we set out to build something Filipino parents didn’t quite have yet — a space that recognized the brands, products, and services that actually make family life better. What started as a modest list kept growing year after year. Last year, we finally gathered in person to celebrate our winners for the first time. In this milestone fifth edition, the list has grown to 100 — a testament not just to how far the Parents’ Choice Awards has come, but to how much the Filipino parenting landscape itself has evolved.

I think about that evolution often. When I was raising my six children in the early 2000s, “options” meant whatever was on the shelf at the nearest grocery or department store, with reviews confined to magazine pages, the occasional parenting forum and chit-chats with other parents at the park. There were no curated lists, no community of parents online trading recommendations at 2 a.m. Today’s parents are spoiled when it comes to choices, in the best and most overwhelming sense of the word. That’s exactly why an award like this matters more now than ever: with so much competing for a parent’s trust, we do the work of separating what’s genuinely loved from what’s just loud.

Five years, a hundred reasons —that’s the spirit behind this year’s edition. Every brand on these pages earned its place through the same rigorous standard we’ve held since day one: real impact on real families. This year, we assembled a panel of ten moms and dads, each at a different life stage, to deliberate on the brands, products, and services that genuinely make their lives more manageable. Their conversations were a refreshing reminder of what it really takes to win a parent over these days. From the products trusted on our babies, to wellness spaces that keep parents feeling like themselves again, to destinations that make quality time effortless, this year’s awardees prove that thoughtful innovation, wherever it shows up, is always worth celebrating. We’ll be honoring them all on August 29th.
