There is a distinct, undeniable magic when a younger sibling transforms into a parent. For Kapuso star Ruru Madrid, that exact milestone arrived as his younger sister, actress and influencer Rere Madrid-Sotto, officially welcomed her first child—a beautiful baby boy named Atlas.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, October 1, the proud actor couldn’t contain his excitement about becoming an uncle, sharing a warm welcome for his newborn nephew alongside photos featuring Rere and his girlfriend, Bianca Umali.

“Tito Ruru na ako! Congratulations, Bunso at Bayaw, sa isang napakagandang biyayang ipinagkaloob sa inyo,” Ruru shared in a sweet message.

Reflecting on his sister’s strength, Ruru expressed just how proud he is to see her step into motherhood. “Sobrang proud ako sa’yo. Mommy ka na! Alam kong hindi naging madali ang lahat, pero look at you now. You did it, Bunso.”

Rere previously shared a video on Instagram stories, showing Kai holding their newborn son.

A Supportive Family Across Distances

Becoming a new mother comes with unique challenges, especially when distance is involved. Rere’s husband, basketball star Kai Sotto, is currently fulfilling his athletic commitments in Japan. Acknowledging the sacrifice, Ruru extended a heartfelt shoutout to his brother-in-law.

“Alam ko rin na hindi madali para sa’yo na mapalayo kay Baby, pero ginagawa mo ito para sa kanila. Saludo ako sa’yo, Bayaw,” he wrote.

As for Baby Atlas? He is entering a world filled with endless love and an eager support system back home. Ruru reassured the couple that he and Bianca are more than ready to step up as hands-on tito and tita.

“Nandito lang kami ni Tita Bianca para sa’yo, Baby Atlas. We’ll be here to watch you grow, support you, and love you every step of the way. Welcome to the world, Atlas. We love you!”
