Anderson Cooper Welcomes Second Son

The CNN journalist confirms he has welcomed a second son, Sebastian and that his first son Wyatt will be adopted by his ex-partner  Benjamin Maisani

CNN journalist Anderson Cooper announced on Thursday, February 10 that he is now a father of two boys. On his show Anderson Cooper 360, he began by saying how his first son Wyatt arrived as the world battled a pandemic and later shared his second son Sebastian Luke.

“These are the pictures I showed of Wyatt then, taken just days after he was born. This is Wyatt today. He is nearly 22 months old. He is sweet, funny, and the greatest joy of my life. If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it’s because he now has a baby brother. His name is Sebastian, and I would like you to meet him,” he said.

“This is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He was 6.8 pounds at birth and he was healthy and happy and even his occasional hiccups, are to me, adorable. He mostly just sleeps and eats and certainly poops, but he already seems like a wise and thoughtful little chap.”

Anderson also shared that he and his ex-partner and best friend Benjamin Maisani are raising the two together. Wyatt, he said calls him “daddy” while Benjamin is “papa.”

Calm and happy

Anderson also announced during the show that he’ll be taking sometime off to spend with his two kids. When asked if it was easier the second time around, he said ” I’m definitely calmer than I was the first time.”

“He’s doing great and he’s just so adorable, he’s got a lot more hair than Wyatt had when he was born, and he’s just incredible.”

Anderson also said that Wyatt has been helping him raise Sebastian and calls him Luke.

In lieu of gifts, Anderson said that he would appreciate donating the gifts to local organizations.

Congratulations Anderson!
