It’s A Big Night for Manila: Big Time Rush Concert Coming To Manila!
The city is Big Time Rush’s this coming October as they perform their first-ever concert in the Philippines!
Time to go big time, millennial parents! Big Time Rush has scheduled their Asia debut concert this coming October 17, 2024, at New Frontier Theater, Manila. For those who grew up on Nickelodeon and loved boybands, these boys’ songs were one of those that we often played on repeat. Their reality show, based on their band’s namesake, always got a laugh out of us as they showed what it’s like to rise to fame.
According to the concert organizers, Live Nation, the tickets will cost a minimum of PHP 1,750 to PHP 5,000.
Who is Big Time Rush?
While Backstreet Boys, Westlife, N Sync, and 98 Degrees were for the early millennials, the latter half had One Direction and Big Time Rush.
Some of us will recall, growing up, that boybands faded out for a while, only to be replaced by alternative rock bands like Boys Like Girls, Fall Out Boy, and the like. But this didn’t mean that the boyband pop genre died; some still appreciated it and most of us who grew up on Nickelodeon shows will remember Big Time Rush or for short, BTR.
The boys even had their own show, their band’s namesake, which then highlighted the many ups and downs of their rise to fame. The group, composed of Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, James Maslow, and Carlo PenaVega, even collaborated with other artists like Snoop Dogg for their song “Boyfriend” and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks for the song “Count on You.”
A welcome sound of nostalgia!
Considering that one of their last songs “Music Sounds Better With U” was a chart-topper back in 2011, it was heartbreaking for many of us fans to not hear from them for a long time.
While their series ended in 2013, they decided to tour until March 2014 which is when they decided to go on hiatus to try and pursue their own careers.
As parents, we’re always looking for ways to share our childhood delights with our kids. For many millennials, it was music. A lot of us grew up on the bands and artists that are starting to make a comeback with Big Time Rush being one of them.
We’re hoping that our teens and kids won’t mind listening to the tunes we jammed to when we were teens like them!
