For the first time in forever, Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and their unforgettable songs are heading to the Manila stage as the Frozen Musical in April 2027.

9 Works Theatrical will bring Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical to the Proscenium Theater at Rockwell in Makati for a strictly limited run in April 2027. The musical is based on Disney’s 2013 animated hit and features music and lyrics by Filipino-American EGOT winner Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, with a book by Jennifer Lee.

And yes, parents can expect familiar favorites including “Let It Go,” “For the First Time in Forever,” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” The stage production also adds a dozen songs written specifically for the musical.

For many parents, Frozen is more than a Disney movie. It is practically childhood soundtrack material.

The film was a coming-of-age story wrapped in snow and magic. Elsa’s powers can even feel like a metaphor for growing up: suddenly, your emotions become bigger, stranger, and harder to control—and everyone is telling you to figure them out.

Then there is sisterhood. Anna and Elsa’s story reminds children that true love does not always have to be romantic. Sometimes, it looks like showing up for your sibling when everything has gone terribly, spectacularly wrong.

And perhaps its most important lesson? Things are not always what they seem.

For parents hoping to introduce their children to live theater, Frozen offers a familiar doorway into storytelling, music, performance, and imagination.

For The First Time In Forever? Maybe.

The original Frozen already had Broadway-caliber talent behind it. So it’s no surprise that the scores have already been adapted to musicals. The only thing every parent (and probably every Frozen fan) is wondering is how they’re going to do the effects. But one thing’s for sure: the Manila musical will bring that world into a live setting, with new songs alongside the classics kids already know.

The timing could hardly be more perfect. At D23 2026, Disney also teased Frozen 3, with returning stars including Menzel, Kristen Bell, and Josh Gad performing new music.

So, parents, if your child still sings Let It Go at full volume, this may be one show you actually won’t want to let go.
