Funko Pop Opens Their First Ever SEA Store in Mall of Asia (MOA)
Remember the figurines that made their way into the toy stores? Funko Pop will now have its own store in the Mall of Asia (MOA)!
Collecting figurines has always been a thing among millennials—both parents and non-parents. Some of us were even willing to spend thousands of pesos on figurines, especially if they were limited edition. Funko Pop is one of the more popular brands. Usually costing around PHP600.00 ~ PHP700.00 unless limited edition in the Philippines, the brand began producing figurines from different franchises and supplying character stoy chains like Big Boys Toys. But now, Pop Funko will be opening their first Southeast Asia flagship store in Mall of Asia!

Just how popular is Funko Pop among Filipino families?
Funko Pop has endeared itself to collectors and parents alike with its disproportionate features. With a large head and black dots for eyes, the neutral expression made them easy to blend in homes without making the place look too zany. They also tend to appreciate the moment the character is “phased out” or no longer in production, tripling in price.
But the figurine brand has become a big part of Philippine culture, especially with it’s release of the Jollibee Funko Pop figurine. As of now on Lazada, the figurine ranges from PHP 800.00 to PHP 1,500.00 per piece. After all, Jollibee plays a big role in many Filipinos’ childhoods.
Some families even invested in creating “custom” Funko Pops. They would turn themselves into Funko Pop figurines which is kind of cuter than the typical family photo on the shelf. Others would think of them as great gift ideas, especially for the kids at heart.

Investing in not so breakable hobbies
Whenever we design a house and we have kids, the first thing we fear is all the breakables. An old Murano vase from Italy, a stone bust of some random Greek hero, blue and white China that we inherited from our lolas — while they’re all nice, they are certainly not toddler-friendly. But we don’t want a boring house either! That’s the fun part about Funko Pops: not only do they look cute as a toy but also neutral enough to be part of a family’s home design.
