A Growing PPop Family Through Its Supporters
The PPop family, primarily teens and adults, gathered once again for the PPopCom Mini held at Eton Centris last September 16.
The PPop music industry is definitely thriving in the country thanks to the support of the fans. Following the success of its first event last March, the organizers of PPopCom once again gathered last September 16 at Eton Centris for the event dubbed as PPopCom Mini. Organized by the fans for the fans, PPop supporters showed their love and support for the acts who performed pro-bono in support of PPop music. Although the event got delayed due to the rain, the PPop family and organizers patiently held the event and it didn’t dampen their spirits.
A concert for upcoming acts
The event began with fans participating in a random dance challenge, grooving to the latest hits of different PPop artists.
Rising artists such as Rey Cariaso, Mitsipey, and upcoming acts like SMS, Neo, A Trainees, and Black Purple took on the stage to perform covers of their favorite artists as well as their own songs.
The new boy group in town, AJAA, also got everyone screaming on stage. They performed their singles “HANY” and “Torpe.” It was also a big moment for the group 6Sense, who made a return on stage, having performed at the first PPopcom in March.
Support for the growing PPop family
There was also a surprise appearance. VXON, dubbed as the Monsters of PPop, came to support their brother groups AJAA and Yes My Love. Having debuted on the PPopCom stage which has become close to their hearts, Yes My Love, known as the vocal heartstoppers, got the audience feeling love with their second single “Yayakapin” and the EDM vibes of “Light Up” set to be released on streaming platforms on September 30.
Last to perform was Press Hit Play. They hyped the crowd with their singles “Yuno”, “Win” and their upcoming song “Brand New” which will be released soon.
With Press Hit Play wrapping up the event, the organizers led by Z Punzalan thanked the crowd. Recalling the challenges they went through the first time they mounted the event, Z also praised her co-organizers. Some of them were even parents who took time off from their respective lives to help out.
We are family
While the family has often been synonymous with a father, mother, and children, the family is also a community outside of it. It can be a group of friends. Or it can be your workmates! But it can also be strangers with a common passion just like the people behind PPopCom.
As the PPop scene continues to grow, so are the fans. And it has become not just a community because of the love of music. But it also has become a big family and support system.
