4 Reasons Why Parents and Kids Should Go to PPOPCOM Mini

What started as a fan gathering is now a growing family and the PPopCom is back with a PPOPCOM Mini on September 16.

Music continues to evolve and PPop or Pinoy Pop is no exemption. Today, so many P-pop groups have been emerging and even parents are getting into it. When a big P-Pop event got postponed in March, a group of fans composed of parents, teens, and adults found themselves getting together to make sure that fans who flew in for the event still had something to enjoy. This is how the PPOPCom began. Following the success of the March event, they’re back this September 16 with PPopCom Mini at Eton Centris, gathering some of the rising P-Pop artists everyone will want to listen to.

Here are four reasons why you and your family should drop by the PPopCom Mini.

It’s open to everyone and for free!

Organized for the fans and by the fans, the PPOPCOM started as a way for fans who came to Manila for the postponed event in March. It was opened to everyone to enjoy and promote P-pop music and has since grown in the past months.

You’ll have to make plans as PPopcom will only be allocating 350 walk-ins for the event.

Listen to some of today’s fast-rising P-Pop artists

If you’ve always wondered what groups your kids listen to then here’s your chance to know who they are. Some rising artists, both groups and soloists, are set to perform from the stage. From newbie AJAA, vocal heartstoppers Yes My Love, Press Hit Play, and Rey Cariaso, you and your family will enjoy and bond with their music.

And that’s not all! The PPopCom is known to have surprise appearances from your favorite artists so you’ll have to drop by to wait.

You’ll get to meet more P-Pop fans and the artists themselves!

If you are a fan of P-Pop music, here’s your chance to meet other people who share the interest. Aside from meeting others, you’ll have a big chance of interacting with the artists themselves.

On top of meeting friends and artists, there are some booths you can check out to buy merchandise, from stickers to albums.

The event is organized by fans for the fans!

The organizers are fans themselves and some even have kids. They never thought that they’d be able to pull off an event like this. In an interview with Modern Parenting, Z Punzalan, one of the organizers of PPOPCOM, said that while it remains to be seen of PPOPCOM’s future, they will definitely grow it.

“We’re just there to watch it grow,” she said. “Like parenting, it’s not going to be easy to move from one stage to another. So I think we are at that stage of like a baby wherein you have to take care of the delicate things. “

Support all the way

While some may still have some misconceptions about the P-Pop genre, it’s only a matter of time before the spotlight will shine on it. If your child wants to support and watch local artists, encourage them because not only do they look up to the artists but may aspire to be one themselves. Who knows — they might even perform on stage in the future!
