P-Pop Group DIONE on Their Music for Today’s Generation
Rising P-Pop group DIONE shares their song list about empowerment plus being a role model for today’s generation of kids.
The word empowerment can be described in many ways. For P-Pop artists, the responsibility of empowering their followers is a role they take seriously. In celebration of Women’s Month, we asked the female P-Pop group, DIONE, their favorite songs during an art gallery visit with kids. It’s no surprise that all of them almost have the same choices.

On the responsibility of being a role model to kids
Just like their brother group 1st One, the girls are aware that as public figures, teens and kids look up to them not just as artists but as influential people.
“I have been a child before and from experience, now na adult na din ako and doing things for my family, parang kailangan kong makausap yung mga bata kasi doon ka din matututo sa kanila at matututo din sila sa iyo,” Ella said.
DK for her part channels the sister in her. “May mga kapatid po akong kids. Minsan hindi napapakinggan yung mga kids kasi akala lang natin bata sila at tayo yung matanda. Pero meron silang mga ideas na malawak silang mag-isip. So kailangan mo habulin sila, habulin mo yung gusto nila mangyari and guide them.”
For Clara, it’s important that being herself is one way of showing the kids today that they are people they can look up to. “We have a different generation from the kids now but it’s to show them that it’s okay to be you and be real so we are going to be real as well.”
Listening to the kids is something that Joyden feels should be done. “Totoo naman na iba na yung generation. Madalas ngayon yung mga bata depressed na. So feel ko na mas maging open ears tayo sa kanila and iba na yung pag-handle nila sa mga bagay ngayon sa mga problems.”
DIONE will join their brother group 1st One at the P-Pop Convention on March 19 at the Araneta Coliseum. But before the main event, catch them in their Meet and Greet on March 12 at the New Frontier Theater.
