The Peninsula Manila celebrates Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary by debuting a special afternoon tea experience for the family.
As tall as five apples, and as heavy as three, Hello Kitty is a bright little girl with a heart of gold.
Many of us have grown up with Hello Kitty. Since her debut back in 1974, we’ve seen this character on TV and just about anything and everything—from school supplies to clothing, accessories, toys, dinnerware, and more!
But really, what’s not to love? She’s a cute and cuddly icon—known for her signature red bow, round face, beady eyes, and button nose. Hello Kitty’s charm lies in her simplicity, innocence, and universal appeal. Kids love the bright colors and playful designs, while adults love Hello Kitty because…well, it’s a nostalgic part of their childhoods!
Now celebrating 50 years of cuteness and friendship, Hello Kitty partners with The Peninsula Manila for a special experience: a Hello Kitty-themed Afternoon Tea session!

Starting April 15, 2024, The Lobby at The Peninsula invites parents and kids of all ages to experience its sweet and savory Hello Kitty Afternoon Tea. Helmed by the talented Head Pastry Chef Annalyn Solano and her team, this elegant spread features fresh seasonal fruits and ingredients that take inspiration from the well-loved character.
In this three-tier spread, expect a cute collection of afternoon tea classics. Start with some buttery and flaky raisin scones, which pair well with clotted cream and organic strawberry jam.
Then work your way up to savory fare—from classic cucumber sandwiches made with tomato bread to York Ham sandwiches with English mustard, beetroot bread topped with Scottish smoked salmon, and sauteed prawn with egg salad in a glass.
But before anything else, cleanse the palate with some apple pie chocolates. Indulgent as it sounds, it features smooth chocolate that pairs with the sweetness of apples and the mild spice of cinnamon.
Finish off with the hotel’s showstopping desserts like caramel apple tarts and English trifle cakes, along with strawberry financiers and chocolate rose tea sandwich cookies that pay homage to Hello Kitty’s signature red bow. Enjoy all this between sips of hot tea or ice-cold champagne, depending on what drink calls to you.
Hello Kitty Afternoon Tea: A nostalgic blast from the past
The sweetness, however, does not end there. Families who partake in the Hello Kitty Afternoon Tea can bring home a Hello Kitty and The Peninsula Bear limited-edition plush toy set. Truly a cute and cuddly souvenir to bring back after a lovely date with family!
The Lobby’s Hello Kitty Afternoon Tea is priced at PHP 5,000 (with a pot of tea), while the set goes for PHP 7,000 (with two flutes of champagne).
But better hurry! This afternoon tea experience is available from April 15 to May 15, daily, from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at The Lobby.
