HIGHLIGHTS: Metro Manila Film Festival Parade of Stars 2023
Celebrities from the 10 films rode floats in Navotas, Caloocan, Malabon, and Valenzuela for this year’s edition of the Parade of Stars.
The cities of Caloocan, Navotas, Malabon, and Valenzuela turned into a sea of celebrities as the stars of the 10 films in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 took part in the annual Parade of Stars.
Among those who were present were power couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera—who were both promoting their movie Rewind—alongside Enchong Dee and Cedrick Juan for Gomburza, Christopher de Leon for When I Met You In Tokyo, Derek Ramsay, Beauty Gonzalez, and Zeinab Harake for Kampon, and Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards for A Family of Two.
Penduko star Matteo Guidicelli also rode the float with cast members Kylie Verzosa and Aaron Villaflor.
Piolo Pascual’s film Mallari was also part of the parade, alongside Becky and Badette, Firefly, and Broken Hearts Trip.
The annual Parade of Stars takes place days before the festival, which opens on December 25.
Hoping for a Better Festival
Aside from the CAMANAVA region hosting the event, the MMFF 2023 also marks the first time that instead of 8 movies, there will be 10 films showing in cinemas around the country.
Before the event, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) opened the MMFF auditorium, which was attended by the lead stars of all films.
The Gabi ng Parangal is scheduled for December 27, whereas the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival happens from December 25, 2023, to January 7, 2024. Held every Christmas season, the Metro Manila Film Festival showcases the best Filipino films for families to watch. It’s always something that every Filipino looks forward to. And this year is no different!
Last year’s festival saw Deleter winning some of the big awards including Best Actress for Nadine Lustre.
