Jessica Sanchez Reflects on Motherhood and Music in Her 9th Month of Pregnancy
The AGT semifinalist shares how motherhood is transforming her voice, her purpose, and her heart
As her baby bump blossoms and the competition heats up, Jessica Sanchez is living a moment unlike any other—stepping into the final month of pregnancy while competing live on America’s Got Talent.
The 30-year-old singer, known for her powerhouse vocals and unforgettable run on American Idol, recently shared stunning images from her maternity shoot on Instagram, along with a heartfelt message about the beauty—and unexpected timing—of this chapter in her life.
“Today I officially step into my 9th month of pregnancy,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “My heart is overflowing with gratitude for all the love and kind words that have been pouring in. I never imagined I’d be spending these final weeks of pregnancy away from home, in the middle of such an exciting competition. I truly believe God’s plan is greater than my own.”
A Season of Firsts
This year has been full of milestones for the Filipino-American artist, not just professionally, but personally. She turned 30, celebrated with her husband and loved ones, and enjoyed a tropical babymoon in Hawaii before diving into the AGT season.
“ Today was one of those days where you look back and realize how far God has brought you. The tough but beautiful journey that you’ve been on, and how good He has been through it all. I never could’ve imagined my life would look like this; it’s more than I could’ve ever asked for. My heart is full of gratitude. Not because of the gifts or the cake but because of all of the love and grace I’ve been given throughout these 30 years,” she wrote last August 5.
Now, with just weeks to go before welcoming her first child, Jessica says her heart is set on soaking in every moment.
Nesting and Performing
Between rehearsals and live tapings, the soon-to-be mom has been lovingly preparing her baby’s nursery and receiving gifts from family and friends.
“I have no idea what it’s gonna look like for me, but I’m so ready to receive the new lessons and blessings that come with this new life. I’ve been having sooo much fun preparing a nursery and buying the cutest [little] baby clothes, it’s been such a dream. I can’t wait to share more of my journey with y’all, music & more.”
And though she’s glowing on stage, fans are seeing a different kind of light behind the scenes—one shaped by love, faith, and a deep sense of transformation.
Full Circle Moment
Though she became a household name as the American Idol runner-up over a decade ago, Jessica describes her return to America’s Got Talent as a full-circle moment.
“AGT was the beginning of that fire that sparked inside of me,” she told the judges during her audition in July. That same night, she revealed she was expecting her first child—something judge Simon Cowell responded to with joy.
“Let me tell you, this is actually the best thing that can ever happen in your life.”
More Than a Competition
With a baby on the way and a microphone in hand, Jessica is embracing the unpredictability of this chapter with grace.
As she heads into the semifinal round, she’s not just performing for a crowd—she’s singing with purpose, fueled by the little life growing inside her.
