Jessie J Gives Birth to Her Baby Boy via C-Section
Jessie J: “I did everything to try and turn him for two months but he said ‘Nah mum I wanna make an entrance out the roof, not the front door.’”
Not all births turn out the way moms dreamed or wanted. Although Jessie J wanted to do an unmedicated, water birth when she gave birth to her baby boy, there were changes. “I wanted a pool birth ideally with no medication. BUT this was MY plan to stay disciplined and focused. I knew full well it could and would most likely go in a completely different direction,” she wrote on her Instagram. “I am open to surrendering to the safest way for my baby boy to arrive.”
And it did at her 40-week mark when her son was in the wrong direction.
The safest way to have her baby
Despite all her efforts to turn him around for two months, Jessie J accepted that there are things she can’t control. “I did everything to try and turn him for two months but he said ‘Nah mum I wanna make an entrance out the roof, not the front door,'” she confides.
According to her ultrasound, her baby was “stuck” and a little “chunkier” compared to the usual “average and long,” leading to her agreement to have a C-section instead. Does she feel bad that she didn’t have the dream birth she wanted? It’s why she took to Instagram to answer the question: ‘Do you feel like you missed out on the birth you wanted?’
“I had a birth and it was everything I wanted because I got him at the end of it, that’s all that matters,” she replies. “To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again.”
All that matters is that both baby and mom are safe
Sometimes, it’s scary to deviate from the birth plan especially when it’s a completely new experience. Pregnancy books don’t always cover all the risks and only trained medical professionals know how to troubleshoot when things go down.
