Actress Kris Bernal and businessman Perry Choi will become parents sometime in August. But before their baby arrives, Kris Bernal did a maternity shoot with Nice Print, where she also shared some of her thoughts as a mom-to-be.

In God’s perfect time

Kris wrote about the time that she was working non-stop in showbiz. “I’ve always loved the hustle and bustle of being in the limelight. The showbiz grind was never easy but I’m so passionate that all I did was work, work, work harder to become better at my craft.”

“That was me a few months ago until I’ve come to know there’s a growing human inside me,” she added.

Now that she’s set to become a mom, Kris said that the baby’s arrival was a reminder for her to pivot her priorities.

“It’s not an accident. It’s God’s timing. God [led] me here where I was supposed to be. The main thing being, time. What a gift. And, I’ve had so much time. Time to not work; time to be with my husband; time to rest, to think, to feel. I’ve never had so much time and all I can feel in this time is GRATITUDE and LOVE. Words can’t express how grateful I am for this timing and blessing. I’ve discovered a lot of things about myself and above all, I realized that being a mom is the most significant and fulfilling job in the world.”

Challenges of a mom-to-be

In another set of photos, Kris shared her struggles with the changes. “Pregnancy is hard, for some, for me! It’s not the same for all of us. And, I’m a big believer in acknowledging the struggles as much as the wins.”

“I’ve struggled physically, mentally, and emotionally. A lot of things are all new for me. I feel like a stranger in my own body. And, just like any pregnant woman, I also experienced all the symptoms possible. I have weathered the storm, stood in the fire, and survived! “

She pointed out that when a woman comes to realize the changes, she slowly embraces and becomes stronger.

“I actually didn’t need solutions! I just wanted to be seen, heard, and understood in the moments of sacrifice and vulnerability and everything that goes into creating a human! And, thank you to those who understand what I’m experiencing and don’t judge me on my hard days. “

In her third set of photos, Kris said that once someone gives birth, it also means a new person is born in the mother.

“Water represents life, fertility, and rebirth. Nobody will warn you that when you give birth you don’t only give birth to your baby — you will also give birth to yourself. A new you,” she wrote.

“Your identity has changed since pregnancy — you’re still you, but this is a ‘you’ you’ve never known. This is a “you” you’re learning more about every day — growing, evolving, and transitioning through every moment. You and your baby are going to see this whole world together like it’s brand new — because it’s brand new.”
