Kylie Padilla Says She Gave It All Despite Failed Marriage

Kylie Padilla says she has no regrets despite her failed marriage to Aljur Abrenica during an interview with Boy Abunda.

Kylie Padilla said that if there’s one big lessons she wished she learned from her failed marriage with Aljur Abrenica, it would be to leave something for herself and not give everything.

“I gave my all,” she told Boy Abunda during the interview last week to promote the show Black Rider. “Kaya ko natanong sa inyo iyon yung pagbabago because for a time sa relationship namin, there was a point in my life na people in relationships will go through struggles. Kasama talaga iyon because I made the promise of marriage even if sabi ko sa sarili ko na okay, even if I’m unhappy now and magiging ganito ang set up namin, ipaglalaban ko pa din para sa mga anak ko.”

At that point, Kylie got emotional and admitted that she gave it her all and it still ended up not working.

“Galing ako sa broken family. I hate when people say na artista yan, papalit palit lang. Ganun ang style ng mga artista when it comes to relationships,” she continued. “But people don’t know how much it hurt me. It’s unfair and I wanted more for my kids.”

Kylie Padilla: I fought hard for it to work

Kylie continued by saying that despite going through postpartum, she fought hard to make the marriage work.

“I made a promise to myself kahit I went through postpartum and postpartum is very hard, a very difficult thing to do; for a woman to go through. Pero pinaglaban ko pa din hanggang sa dulo na paninindigan namin yung ginawa naming kasal.”

The promise of marriage, she said, was sacred and despite not believing in it, she still went through it. Despite what has happened, she has no regrets.

“Walang pagsisisi. Kasi my kids have a good relationship with their dad until now. And one thing that I don’t want them to go through is wala silang maramdaman na tatay.”

When asked if the failed marriage made her cynical when it comes to love, Kylie said: “I try to work on my heart na hindi magiging cynical. Kasi its a healing process. But no, I don’t want to end in a place where I am cynical.”

Kylie Padilla: I was born to be a mother

In the same interview, Kylie spoke about life as a mom to her kids Alas and Axl. Being a mom made her a better woman. She added that being a woman is her power.

Saying that she was born to be a mother, Kylie explained: “Ever since I was 17, I wanted to be a mom. And may visions ako, Tito Boy. Sometimes, I see things before it happens. And I saw my kids. So I know I was born to be a mother.”

“Kung ano man ang nangyari, nandito ako ngayon and I have two kids with me and I am the happiest person in the world. Sobrang blessed ko kasi nandiyan sila.”

Since their separation, Kylie and Aljur have been co-parenting. They married in 2018 but separated in 2021.
