Lily-Rose Depp is Proud of Dad Johnny’s Cannes Standing Ovation
Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose makes a rare comment about her dad during an interview on Entertainment Tonight.
We all know how parents can be proud of their children’s achievements. But in the case of Lily-Rose Depp, she was a proud daughter to her dad Johnny Depp when the actor’s movie Jeanne Du Barry was shown at Cannes and he received a standing ovation.
In an interview on Entertainment Tonight, Lily-Rose beamed with pride about her dad’s moment, something she doesn’t do often.
“I’m super happy for him. I’m super excited,” Lily-Rose said of the moment. “And it’s so awesome that we get to do projects that we’re super proud of.”
Lily-Rose was referring to the HBO drama The Idol, where she appeared in a few episodes alongside The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye).
The young actress said it was the first time she saw people beyond her and the team watch the drama.
“It felt like such a beautiful celebration and a culmination of everything that we’ve been through together, and just kind of a beautiful process that was in the show, and creating this little family together, and it just felt really, really nice.”

Dad and daughter pride
Jeanne Du Barry was Johnny’s first lead movie since the highly publicized defamation feud he had with ex-wife Amber Heard. Johnny eventually won the case.
The movie marked the opening of the Cannes Film Festival, where hundreds of celebrities are attending for the premiere of several blockbuster films and TV shows.
