Lizzo as The Duchess in Star Wars: “My Dad Would Be So Proud.”

Lizzo, who played The Duchess in Star Wars Mandalorian, pays tribute to her dad who loved the franchise.

It’s a dream come true for Lizzo to play The Duchess for she grew up watching Star Wars with her late dad. “It was like a rite of passage,” she writes on her Instagram post featuring her as The Duchess. For many daughters who were daddy’s girls, dads will always share their beloved franchise to bond with them. And in Lizzo’s case, it was the initial trilogy of Star Wars (Episodes 4-6) which “quickly became hers.”

A dream come true

Although her late father may not be able to watch his daughter perform in his beloved franchise, we’re sure he’s enjoying it wherever he is. Lizzo admitted to “crying all day” when she became part of her dad’s favorite ever-expanding franchise. She also added that it was a “dream she didn’t think was possible.”

“When Jon Favreau called me and offered the role of The Dutchess, I cried all day wishing my dad was still with us cus he’d be so proud,” Lizzo wrote.

All the more now she will feel the presence of The Force. We’re sure her dad is rooting for her from above.

May The Force Be With You, Lizzo!

It’s a dream come true for any child who grows up to work in the entertainment industry to star in the franchise that their parents enjoyed. Although her father may not be able to physically point at the TV and proudly say, “That’s my girl!”, we’re sure she can still hear it somewhere in a galaxy far, far, away. May the Force be with you, Lizzo, as you do your dad proud. And congratulations, on your new role!
