The Modern Parenting List
Moms
Anna Palabyab Rufino
Anna Palabyab Rufino is a board-certified dermatologist and the Co-Founder of BeautiqueMD. She is married to Raymond Rufino and they have three children: Stefano, Francesco, and Raffaello.
What makes her a modern parent is acknowledging that each of her children is unique and special in their own way. She responds to each of their needs and wants as individuals and she tries her best to instill in them the values of love, kindness, and respect towards themselves, others, and the environment.
Apples Aberin
Apples Aberin is a former model and currently a marketing and public relations consultant. As a mother of two grown-up kids, she believes there is no one-size-fits-all definition when it comes to being a modern parent. However, she tries to communicate openly with her children and encourages them to express themselves and be who they want to be, as long as they are kind and compassionate.
She also recognizes the importance of emotional quotient (EQ) as a key factor in living a well-balanced and happy life. She tries to teach them empathy and resilience, so they can navigate better in today’s rapidly changing world.
Bea Tantoco Reyes
Bea Tantoco Reyes wears many hats as a wife, mom, household manager, and corporate employee. She also sings and carves out the time to take care of herself by doing things that bring her joy and peace.
For Bea, whether you’re a “working mom” or a “stay-at-home mom,” it is a lot of work and things are not as simple as they used to be. Most women take on the full responsibility of raising children, while also making sure they fulfill their dreams. She finds that the mental load is the most challenging. But dads are now sharing the brunt of some of the load, which is great. She believes parents should cultivate this even more.
Bernadette Allyson Estrada
Actress and entrepreneur Bernadette Allyson Estrada is married to Gary Estrada. They have three beautiful daughters who are now in their teens. What makes her a modern parent is she tries to apply a more open approach now that her girls are in their teens and early twenties, therefore she is flexible and willing to adjust and listen to their needs and their concerns.
Bianca King Wintle
Bianca King Wintle is a German-Filipina actress model who moved to Australia and recently became a first-time mom. As a modern parent, her job is to help Sadie reach her full potential in whatever she is inclined to do.

Camille Villar
Deputy House Speaker Camille Villar is a businesswoman, public servant, daughter, and wife. But she holds the title of “mom” closest, as she is a proud and doting mother to Tristan and Cara.
What makes her a modern parent is the example she is trying to set for them—that being a meaningful and loving presence in their lives is an integral part of every success she enjoys and the responsibility she fulfills.
Divine Lee Go
Events and TV host, children’s clothing distributor, and owner of The Lounge Edit, Divine Lee Go is also a proud mother of three. She navigates life as a modern parent by recognizing the continuous growth and learning as a mother alongside her children—while also learning that children seek love, not perfection in a mother.
Giselle Tongi Walters
Former actress Giselle is based in Los Angeles and travels extensively around California as the communications and community partnerships director of Island Pacific Seafood Market as well as to the East Coast for work as the community and cultural liaison and coproducer for the Broadway musical, Here Lies Love.
What makes her a modern parent is that she discovers the world around herself with her kids in tow and enjoys the same things that bond them together.
Jess Wilson
Jess Wilson is the co-founder of Sunnies Face and a first-time mom to her daughter, Philippa. What makes her a modern parent is how open she is about facing her fears when she’s pregnant and also recognizing that we all have individual paths to parenthood.
Pauleen Luna Sotto
Pauleen is the proud mom of Tali and is expecting her second child with her husband, Vic Sotto. For her, a modern parent knows that the most effective way to raise a child comes with valuing and respecting their opinions and feelings.
Sarah Lahbati Gutierrez
Sarah Lahbati Gutierrez doesn’t shy away from showing how much she loves her two sons: Zion and Kai. For Sarah, raising boys is an honor and adventure. What makes her a modern parent is how much she encourages her children to go on adventures and explore the world around them.
Zeinab Harake
YouTube sensation Zeinab Harake may have millions of subscribers but her favorite role to date is being
a mother to Lucas and Bia. What makes her a modern parent, aside from adopting Lucas and being a single mom to Bia, is that she’s not afraid to be authentic.

Meanwhile, Kimi is a mother of one and believes in raising empowered children. Instead of overprotecting them, she wants to encourage them to make decisions and learn from their experiences while instilling important values.
Stephanie Kienle Gonzalez and Jessica Kienle Maxwell
Steph and Jess Kienle are sisters behind the luxury design brand Philux, their family business. Though they weren’t forced to join the business, they chose to take over and help run it.
What makes them modern parents is how they have evolved to meet the challenges of the times. And when it comes to their kids carving their own paths, the sisters want to give the same freedom of choice that was given to them.
Couples
Danica and Marc Pingris
Marc Pingris is a professional athlete while Danica Sotto is an actress and entrepreneur. They have been married since 2007 and have three children: Mic, Caela, and Jean-Luc. For them, a modern parent is ready to learn and unlearn things.
Doug and Chesca Kramer
