Melissa Gohing: “You Can Be A Good Mom and A Working Mom!”

Melissa Gohing uplifts other mothers with an empowering message to hopefully help eradicate mom guilt.

It’s not easy to recognize that we’re good moms, especially when some decisions we make go against the grain. Many moms opted to become SAHMs (Stay-At-Home-Moms) because that’s what tradition dictated. But staying in the same four walls for the next few years can make anyone go crazy, which is why we totally agree with celebrity mom Melissa Gohing’s message: “You can be a good mom and a working mom. You are allowed to be both.”

Melissa Gohing’s return to work: “Grateful for the support.”

Moms often don’t return to the workforce because they feel there’s no one supporting them. And although Melissa recently gave birth to Ezren, she took to Instagram to share how grateful she is for the support of Rocco and her workmates, who keep the Mum Guilt at bay. “I’m so happy to slowly go back to work. Grateful for a supportive husband who pushes me to do what I love.”

But not many moms are as lucky. Melissa is aware that her slow return to work would have been impossible if Mum Guilt got the best of her. “It makes a huge impact on my decision-making when working but it’s great to have people around you who understand and inspire you to still do what you love.”

Moms are good — whether working or stay-at-home.

Unfortunately, there’s no pleasing anyone as a working mom. Some moms will shame working moms for “neglecting” their babies but will also shame stay-at-home moms for being “unproductive.” But Melissa Gohing’s words should be a mantra for every mother. When the guilt starts to creep up again, repeat her wise words: “You can be a good mom and a working mom! You can be both!”
