Michelle Dee’s Reyna Music Video Shows The Marquez Beauty Queen Genes
Michelle Dee released the music video of ‘Reyna’ with the special appearance of mom Melanie Marquez and cousin Winwyn Marquez
We all know Michelle Marquez Dee as an actress, entrepreneur, and beauty queen representing the Philippines in Miss Universe and Miss World. More than a queen, Michelle is known for championing causes, including autism awareness and mental health.
Michelle is branching out as she adds to her growing multi-hyphenated name career. After modeling, acting, pageantry, and entrepreneurship, the GMA artist is now a recording artist. The video for her first song, “Reyna,” was released over the weekend, and she is not alone, as she is joined by two familiar faces: her mom, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, and her cousin, Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 and Miss Universe Philippines 2025 candidate Winwyn Marquez.
Three Marquez Queens In One Video
Michelle is known for her creativity, and the music video represents that. Produced by Star Records and GMA, it shows Michelle in her queenly aura. Her mom Melanie and cousin Winywn joined the fun as they sashayed and danced in red outfits during the video’s making.
In an interview with GMA, Melanie, now based in the United States, said she’s proud of her daughter’s progress since winning Miss Universe Philippines.
“Alam na alam niya kung paano i-package ang sarili niya,” the Miss International title holder and model said. “ And this is her first song, and for her to sing na klaro ang mga lyrics, it magnificent for me.”
Winwyn, who joined this year’s Miss Universe Philippines competition, took time off from her schedule and motherly duties to have fun and support Michelle.
“I’m enjoying every moment of it,” Winwyn said of the production. “It’s something I know I’ll cherish after this.”
More than featuring their lineage, “Reyna” gave the Marquez women time to bond and be with each other despite their busy schedules. It shows why they have always been admired for their confidence and queenly aura.
Women empowerment
The release of “Reyna” is a perfect opportunity to close Women’s Month. In an Instagram video, Michelle explained the importance of the song.
“It’s finding everything that people call ugly in you, but it’s up to you to find the beauty in that,” she said. “So it’s not just beauty queens, drag queens but everyone [that] feels that in their own right, a Reyna.”
“Reyna” is a song for all women and women in their hearts, showing the world they can be powerful and take up space. Moms, aunts, grandmas, and guardians are “Reyna” or queens because they balance many things. They are nurturers, caregivers, cheerleaders, and providers rolled into one.
If you ever find yourself comparing yourself to other women, reflect on the song’s lyrics: “ Tuwing umaga, titingin sa salamin, sinasabi ko sa aking sarili, I am beautiful, I am kind, with strength and wisdom, I clear my mind. Like the sun, I’ll shine and rise again.”
