Meet the Remarkable Moms Competing in Miss Universe Philippines 2024!
Do you know that five candidates on the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 roster are moms and married already?
Pageant season is heating up as Miss Universe Philippines holds its much-awaited finals night on May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Fifty-three women from around the country, five of whom are moms, are vying to represent the country in Mexico in November.
We’ve introduced Steffy Gerona, Quirino’s representative to the pageant who is a mom, entrepreneur, and licensed nurse. Meet the other four ladies who are taking time off from their mother duties to give pageantry a try.
Meet the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 mom candidates
1. Selena Antonio-Reyes: Pasig City
Miss Universe Philippines is not the first pageant Selena joined. The 38-year-old mom of two and businesswoman previously joined Binibining Pilipinas before marriage. She even joined a health and fitness competition for a tuna brand in 2022, making her one of its brand ambassadors.
On top of being a mom and model, Selena also trained beauty queens to get in shape and is an active marathoner.

2. Johanna Yulo: Davao Region
Johanna is a 39-year-old single mother of three who volunteers at their family ministry. She also spoke about surviving domestic violence in her story, saying life as a solo parent was not easy for her and her kids but they managed to survive.
According to Joanna, her struggles made her realize her self-worth, hence she is working hard for her children.

3. Elle Hollman: Mariveles
Elle is a single mom of two and works as a host, model, and sportscaster. She is also a former cheerleader and says that she wants to bring determination and grit when she competes for the crown.

4. Denise Yujuico: Virginia, USA
Denise represents the Filipino community of Virginia. She was born in the Philippines but moved to Japan and eventually to the United States. She is a Greenpeace National Leader.
Denise said that her experience being raised abroad is one of the causes close to her heart because many like her want to know more about their roots.

These ladies may be moms already but they’ve shown that despite balancing life as mom and their other careers, they can compete in competitions like pageantry and who knows, maybe even win it.
