Meet Modern Parenting’s 100 List of 2025 Part 1
Meet the modern parents shaping the future of the family
Now on its fifth year, the Modern Parenting 100 List celebrates the parents, innovators, creators, entrepreneurs and changemakers shaping the next chapter of family life —those who are raising children with intention, courage and hopeful hearts in an ever-changing world. They are building legacies rooted not in perfection, but in presence; not in status, but in substance. Each year, we look forward to learning a thing or two from these inspiring parents: how they manage their careers and home life, nurture their children, and pursue their passions. Their stories remind us that the the future of family is not fixed—it’s mindful, progressive, and built with hope for what’s to come.

Ace Lara
Learning how to be a parent in this day and age is a consistent practice for Ace, founder of Ninja Made PH, household cleaning products that are safe and sustainable. As a mother to Kane (23) , Kurt (18) , and Kole (17) , she believes that the future of family means “a space where strength and softness finally learn to coexist. By blending emotional intelligence, resilience, and deep-rooted values, we can build a future where children feel both anchored and free.
Anchored in who they are, where they come from, and what matters, yet free to evolve, redefine, and create a life that’s healthier and more intentional than the generations before them, knowing that resilience doesn’t mean suppressing feelings, and love doesn’t mean shielding them from life, but walking with them through it.”

Aina Reyes de Castro
With two young kids under 2, Aina looks to the future of family with a pragmatic mindset.
“The future is one that no longer conforms to a certain standard of the traditional family unit. Think switching parent roles, extended and hybrid families, more hands-on, and the inclusion of a “village” to help raise children. It’s a new future that won’t shelter them from the reality of life.”
While this young founder of Ava the Brand believes the inclusion of AI in parenting cannot be denied, she states that what must remain constant is what her children, Amelia Victoria (2) and Adriana Nikola (6 months) , value. “Always treat others with respect and kindness, no matter the situation, because everyone is carrying their own struggles.”

Alvin Miranda and Jappy Reyes
Exposure to the digital world is inevitable. As corporate executives and content creators and a same-sex couple who had twins, Gia and Franc, via surrogacy, Alvin and Jappy are parenting with the intent of creating a foundation away from screens. As early as now, they know how to address the struggles that come with screen time and how to instill confidence in their kids as they navigate the online sphere.
“With the rise of AI agents and robots, we plan on educating them to be hypercritical of information, especially secondhand information and that found on socials. We intend to guide them in figuring out
how they can trust, both in person and online, and to make it a practice to ask us questions. No topic is off limits between them and us.”

Anna Magkawas
Ever since women entered the workforce, the struggle to achieve work-life balance has been real. It’s true for Anna, CEO & Founder of Luxe Beauty & Wellness Group, and mother to MK (10) , MJ (8) , and Chanel (6) , who is glad to have a partner who understands and supports her and takes an active role in the family.
“Mel helps nurture and guide the kids while I’m busy with work. He’s my biggest supporter, and together we make sure our children grow up knowing the value of respect, hard work, and faith. The world moves so fast now, so I feel the future of family is about balance and teamwork, with importance on our kids growing up with both love and guidance.”

Ariana Coronel Go
A space to be themselves—that’s what Ariana, mom of Rome (1) is striving to achieve in their family. As an entrepreneur handling The Kid Edit, ROJO Kids, APARA, and Studio Madly, she hopes Rome will also
discover what lights him up.
“Parents are becoming more open to self-expression and nurturing their child’s individuality. Family becomes the space where curiosity and creativity are encouraged, and kids are allowed to explore and try different things, to see what positively challenges him and what comes naturally to him. I want him to grow up knowing his family will always be his safe space, filled with love and support.”

Bernadette Lim
Bernadette’s 7-year-old daughter is, as she says, “a daily reminder that creativity and curiosity
are best nurtured together.” As the first Filipina perfumer-educator in the country and founder of BC Fragrance, the country’s first scent design studio, Bernadette takes that reminder to heart, and it shows in her work and family life. “I’m raising my daughter to stay curious, adapt fast, and think independently. The world ahead will belong to those who can lead with both heart and imagination. But even with the world evolving—AI, climate change, shifting values, kindness and compassion will never go out of style. That no matter how far she goes, I hope she remembers that real success is felt, not flaunted.”

Booey Bonifacio
Being 100% present—that is what Booey wants to be for her kids. Her job as the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for Grab Philippines is a demanding one, but no matter how busy she gets, staying connected with her children, Alessia (18) and Rosso Andreas (7) , takes precedence over anything. “I feel families are also threatened by the same malaise we are seeing in bigger society – how we’re all super connected yet feel lonely or isolated at theme time. To establish real and deep connections in our family unit, I try very hard to model two things: intentionality and being 100% present. I intentionally set one-on-one time with each child and devote my full attention to them – no phones!”

Bryan and Angel Liu
When things change as rapidly as they do nowadays, parents need a deep anchor of shared values, and this is what Bryan, Vice President of the Penshoppe Group, and his wife Angel, believe in and want to pass on to instill in their two young daughters, Addie and Allie.
“The future is a highly distracting, polarizing, and rapidly evolving world driven by technology. The family will need to have strong anchors in its values, beliefs, and truths. Our kids need a strong foundation on the shared values that we want to hold as a family, that they understand why we believe in certain things and our faith, how to discern, and that the family is always a source of safety and security.”

Camilla Öster Yu
Living with intention and being present in the now is what the future of family looks like for Swedish visual artist and sound therapist Camilla. A mother of three, she hopes that Lilly (16) , Matteo (13) , and Beatrice (10) celebrate their life’s ups and downs.
“I raise my children to value purpose, resilience, and faith to see challenges as lessons, and to celebrate their growth and triumphs with humility and gratitude. I want them to know that strength and softness can exist together, and that love is something we practice daily through our actions, choices, and how we show up for one another. I believe the future of family begins with presence, emotional awareness, and the right guidance centered around God.”

Carelle Herrera
The future favors the bold, and boldness arises from courage. For Carelle, founder of Trainstation, she
hopes to instill in her children that all they go through has meaning.
“We equip them with the resources and experiences that build courage. The courage to try, change, and fail.”
With her son into sports and her daughter dabbling in theater and the arts, Carelle encourages coupling courage with kindness and work done in the service of others. “As the world changes, there would always be space for humanity and kindness.”
