Meet Modern Parenting’s 100 List of 2025 Part 4
Meet the modern parents shaping the future of the family

Jasmine Ang Chua
When it comes to raising her three kids— Jake (6) , J Deslie (4), and Jewel (1) , Issy & Co. co-founder and Popique Beauty partner, Jasmine is on a roll career-wise, but at home, she is steady, practical, and purposeful. Approaching parenthood with clarity and commitment, she has set up a stable household that allows her children to explore who they are. Finally, knowing how fast-paced the world is, Jasmine wants her children to grow up to be adaptable, confident, and kind—three traits that will always matter.

Jill Lao Wee
Fashion designer and restaurant owner Jill is aware of the responsibility to truly know her daughter Juliana (1) through her personality, pace, and needs. Jill is driven by intention—one that will make her daughter feel safe, seen, and supported, all while giving her space to grow into who she is meant to be. “One value I hope my child carries with her, no matter how the world changes, is a deep, unshakeable sense of being loved. When a child is secure in love, fear loses its power.”

John and Hallie Yeo
With life seemingly getting busier as the world becomes more digital, entrepreneurs behind wellness and family products such as MaryRuth’s Organics, GOLI Nutrition, Biolane to name a few—John and Hallie openly communicate with each other and their daughter. They stay connected offline, nurturing their relationship through listening and quality time. Among their conversations with their daughter, one that stand outs is the reminder to love and glorify God. “We believe that when she puts God at the center of her life, everything else—her character, relationships, and purpose—will naturally follow.”

Jovy Vasquez
Sometimes, life gives a parent the opportunity to be present at home almost 24/7. Such is the case for entrepreneur and founder of Princess Lura Jewelry, Jovy, who describes her family as a close-knit one. In raising her daughters Jasmine (7) and Jane (1) , she welcomes mistakes as lessons and indicators of areas that need more attention. “I want them to always feel comfortable coming to me and their dad never fearful or intimated, just loved, corrected, and supported.”

Joy Sua Go and Mel Sua
Co-founders of BrainRx Philippines, Joy and Mel are aware that certain ways of communicating and doing things will drastically change or even be eradicated over time. Thus, these moms of two continuously remind their children, who are in their teenage years and early twenties, to keep in touch with their humanness, to feel and connect more, and to engage in deep, meaningful conversations. Moreover, they regularly stay away from technology to spend intentional quality time together, enjoying life with curiosity, play, and humor.

Julia Sucgang Bonoan
Learning should be fun, not boring. It should be exciting, not forced. When it comes to teaching her three-year-old daughter Frankie, Julia (the content creator behind the English & Filipino for Kids channel on YouTube) focuses on love, play, and connection. With many lessons to impart, the one that Julia wants Frankie to carry is that of kindness and courage. “To be kind—not because the world always will be, but because the world needs it. And to be courageous—not in the loudest way, but in the truest way.”

Karen Davila
Balancing a demanding career in journalism with motherhood has taught Karen that the greatest lessons often come from the heart—not the headlines. The multi-awarded broadcast journalist anchors TV Patrol, hosts her own vlog, and serves as National Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women, while intentionally dedicating time to her sons, David (23) and Lucas (17) .
David’s journey as a neurodivergent young man inspired Karen’s advocacy for autism awareness, reminding her that supporting children with special needs strengthens the entire family.
Every choice—at home, in school, and in her work—is guided by the belief that children thrive when nurtured with faith, compassion, and community. Parenting, she says, is not about perfection, but about showing up, trusting the process, and celebrating each child’s unique gifts with courage and love.

Kaycee Enerva
Journalist, mental health advocate, and figure skater Kaycee raises her son Geof (15) with the grace and grit shaped by solo parenthood. She envisions a future where families are defined by sincerity. It becomes a circle held together by love, acceptance, and the absence of judgment. For Kaycee, thriving begins with knowing you belong. The lesson she hopes her son carries into any world the future builds is simple yet profound: invest your time in what truly matters. Life is fleeting, she reminds him—far too short to be given to people or moments that dim your joy.

Kariz Tanya Favis
Co-founder of Farmery and Happy Happy restaurants and a devoted animal advocate, Kariz believes the future of family is anchored in faith. “If all we have is God, then we have all we need,” she shares. As a mother to Sabina (22) , Maxine (19) , and Mathis (13) , she nurtures her children to thrive in a world full of uncertainties by instilling hope, resilience, and the timeless lessons of the Bible. “Life is never promised to be easy, but holding true to God’s teachings gives peace and guidance,” she says, shaping a family rooted in faith and grace.

Karmina Constantino Torres
Multi-awarded journalist and senior anchor of ABS-CBN News Channel’s Dateline Philippines, KC manages her high-profile career, a podcast and being a mom to four children— Cristiano Renato and Santiago Renato (16) , Matteo Renato (13) , and Lourdes Letizia Noelle (5) . For her, the future of family is rooted in communication, where expressing emotions and thoughts creates a safe, empowering space. “In our home, we normalize talking about mental health and the processing of emotions,” she shares. Her guiding lesson for her children is to leave a meaningful legacy: “Let your life echo into eternity in ways that uplift, inspire, and honor the values we hold dear.”
