Moms Gather for Community, Creativity, and Growth

Print for mompreneurs took center stage at a workshop that made running a business from home feel doable

A thank-you card, a product label, an invoice. They look small, but for a home-based seller, these printed pieces carry a lot of the business. The INKredible Learning Day workshop last September 30 for mothers and aspiring entrepreneurs built its session around that idea, making a practical case for print for mompreneurs.

Themed “From Print to Profit: Printing Your Way to Business Growth,” the event paired a conversation with a hands-on session. Its main point: print can link a shop’s online orders to the offline work that follows.

event, exploring how printing can connect digital business ideas
with the materials customers see, receive, and use.

Why This Conversation Matters

Women made up 60% of business registrants nationwide, according to the Department of Trade and Industry’s 2025 data. Research from the Philippine Institute for Development Studies also found that women entrepreneurs carry heavier caregiving duties than their male counterparts.

That is the backdrop for the workshop. Many women are building businesses while running a household, so anything that trims everyday friction counts.

“Home-based entrepreneurs put considerable resourcefulness into building their businesses, often while managing responsibilities at home,” said Ida Evina Ong-Co, managing director of HP Philippines, which organizes the series.

where discussions and activities explored ways to apply print to their business ideas.

What Should Stay on Paper?

The discussion looked at which documents still belong on paper and how printed pieces can strengthen a small brand. An order may start online, but a personalized card, a clear label, or a tidy invoice makes the sale feel personal and keeps records in order.

Speakers also touched on how mothers balance family life with their businesses, and how that shapes daily choices about time and money.

Participants then put the ideas to work. They chose ready-made templates, printed them, and added labels, tabs, stickers, and dividers. The printing was done on a tank printer from the organizer’s Smart Tank line.

“Being able to print materials as needed offers the convenience and flexibility to adapt,” said Trish Alonzo, category manager at HP Philippines. She named updating a price list, personalizing an order, and organizing records as examples.

A Crafter’s View From the Room

We also spoke with Kathy Balmores of Ang Arty ni Kathy, a crafter and journaler, about what a day like this means for moms who make things.

Community came first. “You need to have people that understand what you are going through,” she said. Knowing the struggle is shared makes it easier to commiserate and empathize.

Good equipment, she added, pays off when a hobby lasts for years. Reliable tools mean fewer replacements and, in her words, peace of mind.

For moms thinking about selling, she suggested listing every cost of making a product and putting a price on their own time.

Her last tip came with a gentle warning. Expect to fall out of love with your craft sometimes, because burnout is real even when the work is something you love. So take breaks, and put them on the calendar.

That may be the quiet takeaway from a room full of mothers building something of their own: the business matters, and so do the people beside you and the rest you give yourself.
