Movie Night Snacks: Healthy and Delicious
Here are some delicious and healthy movie night snacks that are also easy to make
Families always bond over movies. Whether it’s horror, romance, slice-of-life, or action, no movie night is complete without snacks. However, our usual go-to is just salt-laden. All the potato chips we can eat, bars of chocolate, and the like – it’s okay to do once in a while, but not when it’s a weekly activity. That’ll eventually give us problems in the long run! Here are some healthy movie night snacks we know are also delicious and easy to make:

Kimbap/ Gimbap
Known as the Korean version of sushi rolls, the colorful Kimbap (also known as Gimbap) is loaded with vegetables and meat. And with the little sushi maker machine (or if you’re the traditional bamboo mat roller, that’s okay too!), it’s easy to make. It may take a little longer to prepare because of the veggies, but it totally beats having hotdogs and nachos for movie night. It’s also less messy!
Most traditional Kimbap uses spinach, omelets, carrots, and ground beef. But it’s okay to

Airfried Meatballs
Meatballs are actually pretty easy to make. Grab some ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika and mix. After that, just make golf ball-sized bites and fit as many as you can in the air fryer. Airfry for 30 minutes at 140 degrees Celsius and you’ll have juicy meatballs to pick off the plate with toothpicks for a fun finger food.

Overnight Chia Pudding
Chia Pudding is literally just dumping chia seeds in a jar with all the milk, granola, and berries we like before shoving it in the fridge to chill overnight. What makes this easy to make is that we chill them in batches to be more efficient. Grab an airtight glass container, fill it with chia seeds, milk, granola, and berries, and shove it into the fridge. Give it eight to twelve hours, and you have a sweet and healthier alternative to ice cream.

Roasted Veggie Fries
This may take more time to prepare, but only because we have to slice and skin the veggies. Most parents would go for zucchini, but we can add color by using a variety of veggies. Some parents go for carrots, sweet potato (kamote), and turnip (singkamas) before serving them with a dipping sauce of their choice. Simply slice the vegetables into long, thin strips, drizzle with salt, pepper, and olive oil before airfrying them for 15-20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies
Reduce the gluten with banana oatmeal cookies! Smash around 2 bananas and then mix egg, milk, vanilla extract, oats, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt, and then use an ice cream scooper to make the perfect circles. Line the airfryer with wax paper and then set 160 ~ 170 degrees Celsius for 13-15 minutes, and you’ll have oatmeal cookies to munch on that are perfectly healthy.
However, this movie night snack may not be a good idea for diabetics due to the banana.

Olive Oil, Garlic, and Onion Popcorn

We know most popcorn is made with butter, but olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and onion do well. Toss the uncooked popcorn kernels into the pot with a bit of olive oil and pop them. While they’re popping, mix the drizzle: olive oil, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Grate the garlic and onion so that the bits are small and the juices coat the popcorn. Then, serve!
There are a lot of healthy movie night snacks out there!
Although we love the traditional nachos, popcorn, burgers, and French Fries, it’s not always the healthiest thing unless we make it ourselves. Unfortunately, we also don’t like cleaning up the kitchen. Luckily, these healthy movie night snacks are easy to make and cheap too, once we streamline the recipe. But remember, recipes are not strict guidelines! Feel free to adjust as you deem fit.
